Description
It was raining across the street, but not where she was. On this side it was sunny and warm and there was a breeze. Or so she imagined. Reality reminded her that she was lying alone, ragged, and dying on the city street she had strolled down so many times before. Her mother had walked this street when her daughter moved into an apartment only three blocks away from where she now rested. Her eyes closed. She was a graduate. The world was new to her, but she was ready. The apartment was just right. She walked around naked, the air conditioning unit buzzing in awe of her feminine body. She wasn't skinny, but she surely wasn't fat. She was soft, curved, beautiful, like every woman is at her barest. Her eyes opened again.
Now she lay as naked as she had been a few weeks ago, but it was different now. There were rocks in her skin, parts of her body torn and bleeding. She could feel a discarded soda can under her spine as tears fell from her eyes like firey rocks from hell. A shadow had thrown her onto this can, had forced these rocks to fall. Her fingers were sore from attempting to push him away. Her right arm was broken, limp beside her. She could feel the bruises growing darker, the glass in her body digging deeper, the violation of her soul growing more disgusting.
She whimpered. No one could hear her. She would be found dead the following morning by a man on his way to work. He felt guilt for what he hadn't done, for what one of his kind had done to this young beautiful girl. He covered her with the overcoat his wife bought him for the previous Christmas. He cried and called the police.
She was removed from a pool of her own blood. She had been mangled, her body shredded by his lunges. She was broken, had fought and lost. And now she was gone, dead. The pool drained into a sewer and what remained was washed away by a hose. That cold water swept her DNA through a grate, forcing it to mingle with the excretion of rats and the vomit of homeless drunks.
Just another rape victim.

Wow... this is very powerful. And it's sad that this does happen, and that even when they don't die, the experience scars them, so they lose anyway. Even if it's sad, it's still a really good piece.
