Just a little brain-fart i came up with after watching THORGI's 'Build the Roster' & Fighting Game Retrospective shows. I chose several franchises and assigned 3 characters to each, basing them on the possibility of them being American or living in or near Metro City.

The original roster for Fighting Evolution/Jam was 23 total, including the final boss, Pyron. Now, each represented series in the base Roster has 3 representatives, so that's 18 characters in the base roster, not including the final boss, So I'm going to throw in a few Guest Characters from other fighting games either as free DLC or unlockable characters.

However, while these unlockable characters would have their own arcade mode stories, they would have no involvement in the Main Story mode. Also, while they are 'Guest Characters', they need to have some connection to Capcom in order to make the list.

Story Mode Plot: I basically recycled the plot of the original Fighting All Stars, where a man claiming to be 'Death' threatens to detonate a bomb, dubbed Laughing Sun, in Metro City if 'Ingrid' is not brought before him within a set time limit. Mayor Cody Travers and several other individuals head out in search of 'Ingrid' before the Time Limit expires.

Final Fight: This roster was simple enough, just include Cody, Lucia and Poison from SFV. Their purpose is to keep 'Death' from blowing up Metro City. Cody & Lucia are doing so because they're on the side of the law and Poison because nobody wrecks her hometown but her.

Street Fighter: Yes, I know, a Capcom game where Ryu isn't the Street Fighter rep? HERESY! But I wanted to go with a 'theme' and that theme was 'American characters' or 'Characters who would have a reason to be in Metro City'. So I went with Ken for the shoto, Alex for the grappler and as a wild card Allen Snider from SF EX. Story-wise, Allen challenged Ken to a rematch in metro city.

Rival Schools: In their ending in Project Justice, Roy and Tiffany returned to America in order for Roy to make the world a better place, with Roy eventually becoming president of the USA. That's still a way off but this would give us an excuse to age up the characters by at least 10 years (See 4th Snakes line through time). As for why they're in metro city, Roy is Cody's intern.

Devil May Cry: Probably set prior to DMCV, so Dante is aged up while Trish's moveset is unchanged from UMVC3. Dante's rebellion & handgun moves remain but instead of Cerberus and Agni/Rudra he's got Balrog and Nevan. Lady would probably play like she does in special edition. Story-wise Dante is hired to investigate rumours of a dangerous Demon in Metro City:

Darkstalkers: Story wise Felicia and Jon are running an orphanage in Metro City, so naturally they take offense to Death's bomb threat. As for Lord Raptor, he's simply here to do a tour and doesn't really care about the bomb threat. However, his presence is the reason Dante was hired in the first place.

Original Characters: So yeah, since I recycled the plot of Fighting All Stars, I figured I might as well go with the original cast who were supposed to appear as well. Most people know Ingrid, but newcomers D.D, a K' expy whose fighting style revolve around punches that electrocute foes & Rook, who uses a kick-based style that can manipulate wind, maybe like Rashid?

Boss: Death, real name Avel, is revealed to be Ingrid's father, who possesses the ability to manipulate Dark Matter, at the cost of a shortened lifespan. The Timer for his fight is determined by how long it takes you to get to him in-game, and actually represents how much life he has left before he dies, with the true detonator being tied to his heartbeat.
In the end, it is revealed his only reason for doing all this was to chaos was to gain Ingrid's attention, since he wished to spend his last moments with her before he dies, the password to disarm the bomb being her date of birth.

Guest Characters: Again, these characters have no relation to the main story, they're just here as cameos to other Capcom fighting games that can be used is Arcade mode.

Tessa(Tabatha): Arguably the most popular Red Earth character, given how she was actually a playable character in Capcom vs SNK.

Hayato Kanzaki: The protagonist of Star gladiator, who like Tessa made an appearance in Capcom vs SNK.

Nameless(EMIYA): Yes, capcom published a fighting game based off the Fate Franchise. As for why not Saber? Counter Guardian.

Kujo Jotaro: Capcom made the original JJBA fighter so of course you knew this guy was coming when I said guest fighters.

DLC: Aside from cosmetics, I'd probably include at least 1 DLC character per franchise, like Guy for final fight, Guile for Street Fighter, Morrigan for Darkstalkers, Virgil for Devil May Cry & Sakura for Rival Schools. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to let me know and why.
