Description
So as promised in 4K resolution. The ship was first formed by me in OBJ and then rendered with Thea. The background was created from a nasa image and then rerouted with IRAY in a resolution of 4K. The postprocessing I then created with Photoshop and ACDsee.
Hope you like it...

Wow, nice re-imagining of the original Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica. Kudos to a job well done on bringing back such an iconic design.

As already said, has at the moment a larger object before, a large battle ship which is then also partially rendered from the inside.

Excuse the late reply, yes, of course, a Cylon Raider, has shaped us in SiFi and has probably been in each draftsman's head.

Is not all StarWars or Star Trek. I think in the modern age of the media world and its representation fiction and reality are mixed. The standard for Sience Fiction and our performance has much to do with these examples. Thank you very much

I'm actually colorblind, at least this time I managed to put together a good mix of light and ambient colors. Thank you very much

It should also be, with this model by its flat construction is easy to make many good representations. Thank you very much

I do like this vision of a raider, the flash gordensque, early thirties cockpit, the period paintwork with just enough weathering and the rationalization of the random gribblies into systems, the exposed recoil springs and heat sinks and very nice decal work. All of it executed to a high commercial standard that could easily grace an RPG guide book or CCG.

Thank you for the loving criticism and the suggestion. Since the work and the adjustment immediately more lust. How should one work on oneself and also improve if others do not tell it.
Thank you very much

A thing you may want to consider when rendering images is what the purpose of the image is:
It would seem to me that the initial intent of the image was to display the ship and details that were added towards it in the higher render. If this was the intention then ask yourself a few questions:
- What does the background do to highlight this intention?
- Does the background distract, or focus the viewer's attention on the ship?
As it stands If I squint my eyes, the ship almost entirely fades into the background. Further, the dark parts of the ship are converging on the moon in the background, and I find that my eyes are continually drawn to the moon, which is detailed, and a prominent shape within the composition. Our eyes are naturally drawn to objects we recognize, and the contrast between the black space and the white of the moon make a crisp line that really draws my eyes there. Further, The clouds over the ship - meant to be interesting effects I'm sure - are instead obscuring the very thing I think you're trying to showcase.
If instead the intent was to make an action shot of the ship, then one should consider that the intent, and ask questions accordingly:
- What is the narrative of the action? Is this ship being chased? from what?
- How does the composition of the image aid in the narrative of the action within the scene?
With this intent in mind, when I look at the image as it stands, the ship dominates the center of the image, which to some degree makes the ship feel like it is static, and unmoving - things in motion rarely stay centered in an image, and definitely not without at least a little motion blur. To evoke movement, it would better suit you to move the ship off to one side of the canvas, and in doing so you'll find the ship appears to have 'moved' -- logic tells us that the engines are providing some sort of thrust and therefore, if we give space in front of the ship, then we give the ship a place to go. Conversely, if we give ship to the rear of the image, our mind says 'oh, its moved from there.' This also allows us to consider what the ship is moving to or away from - thereby allowing us to craft a little bit of a narrative.
Once we have a 'protagonist' in the shot, and the action of the protagonist, we can then provide an 'antagonist' -- which can be another ship, or even something benign like where it just took off from / left from, or where it's going. The moon to the right then becomes for me, a point of departure, if the ship is moved to the left.
Finally, in action shots don't be afraid to obscure, or hide parts of the ship. Particularly given that this ship is symmetrical, whatever we don't see, if its clipped slightly, our mind will automatically make up. Clipping the ship in this manner also lets our eyes follow the natural curves and cues of the ship back to or forward to the action.
As it stands it would appear that this image is trapped between being an action image, and a showcase image, and as such does neither effectively. I'd say the best thing that could be done for it is to decide on which it is you're trying to evoke, and then make changes accordingly.

The purpose of the image was to render and display the image and object sharply for the scene. As a scene it was an incoming space ship which flies past the moon into the stratosphere of a planet and thereby flies through the uppermost layers. In the eyes of the beholder, I have left my eyes open, in order to impress the imagination of each and to make a picture of myself.
Whether it just wants to land or be hunted remains open here.
