I usually try to make my fanarts look as much like the official touch as possible.The left one is my usual style, and the right one is my freestyle with no effort to imitate the original
The advantage of freestyle is being easier to draw, but the single greatest disadvantage is that I can not recognize who he is

I actually like it a lot better when people draw Yu-Gi-Oh characters in their own style rather than copying the original style. That's just me though...

I admire that you can draw in the Yu-Gi-Oh style so very well a lot, but I really do think your own style looks beautiful too, si it's a shame not to see more of it.

I disagree. I think you can recognize the character easily. I like fanart that has the artist's style instead of straight imitation. Makes fanart seem less of a cop-out. lol.

I think there's a difference of viewpoint between us.
I prefer fanarts that look like original, but not identical. I don't want to copy the original perfectly, I just want to retain the features of each chatacter
Then the one on the right loses everything that define the character

I think it's interesting to see how people's styles differ xD and even then, the one on the left doesn't look exactly like the original and you still retain some of your own way of drawing the characters, which makes everything better imo <3

Yeah I know it. For me it's impossible to imitate original exactly
But the mixture of imitation and one's own style creates a unique style(I hope so) and yield various fanarts. That's interesting!
