Thank you so much for the compliments. It means a lot. I have no intention of taking it anywhere further, though it is my most faved picture. Honestly, that irritates me. It was created as a parody or a commentary, and it seems that you're one of the few people who has actually come to me noticing that. XD Or maybe I've just heard from the few who don't get it? I certainly hope people like what it stands for--then it's fulfilled its purpose. But enough rambling. Thank you so much again. I really appreciate it. ^_^

whoa, that's a lot of suppressed frustration I know what you mean, my most faved deviation is ugly and means nothing to me, but is popular just because a popular artist faved it.

But I'm sorry, I don't quite get the purpose you say this picture has. I know it contradicts what you were saying XP Please explain what you were aiming for when you were drawing it, I'm curious ^_^

Well, I am, sorry to say, not a ZADR fan. (Though I am a HUGE IZ fangirl, and I do love the rivalry. Dib FTW. )

My idea was something along the lines of they only way Dib could (or would?) ever kiss Zim would be to torture him. Dib "loves" Zim because he hates him. If I'm making any sense? (It's late here. XD)

I tried to play off of irony, if you know what I mean. The paradox is that the relationship between the two characters is almost like one between two lovers--they bicker, they fulfill each other, they're passionate towards one another--and yet it is so fragile and far from actual "love" in that sense. They love each other in their need to hate. You see?

In this picture (heavily inspired by the "Zim is Dead" image), I took a moment in which Dib is saying goodbye to something he has loved--not Zim, but his drive and his goals against him. And in this moment he is also giving the relationship its one last, heartfelt romance. A true kiss in the most bitter sense--a kiss of pain.

Whew. XD

I'm sure I could go on, but hope that you understand the gist of it?

I do understand, and the funny thing is that all those reasons you named are the ones that made me a fan of ZADR in the first place XP I love the obsession, the passion, the burning hate, and it's easy to take the step towards romance, although in their case it would be some kind of messed up, possessive, violent, most probably one-sided kind of "romance" (if one can call it that).

Ironically, I'm also a huge Invader Zim fan and respect the canon. Some people would say it's mutually exclusive because ZADR would never be canon, but if one considers those two things to be totally different, it can work out I mean, I am totally aware that Dib and Zim would NEVER get together in the cartoon (and honestly, I wouldn't like that, it would be weird), but I also developed a liking for the fandom around this pairing and what is created based on them. ZADR is one huge challenge for me, because it's fun to try to make them in character when the pairing is the most OCC thing that would ever happen to them, lol. Like how to achieve the impossible

A thing that I like about your reasons behind this picture is that even if you're not a fan of ZADR and tried to demonstrate why, you did it in a creative way. I'm so tired of people just wanting to destroy what they don't like (like the mere existence of the anti-ZADR club is a mystery to me) instead of creating something new. So I like this picture even more now that I know the how and why behind it
