Description
Irene was born human, but was modified by the witch Esmeralda to resemble a mermaid. She has webbed hands and toes, small fins, gills, and scale-like skin. She can not only survive deep underwater, but also swim at relatively high speeds.

Irene typically plays a lute which she channels mana through. Depending on the song she plays, she will cause different effects such as boosting the stats of her allies or summoning fire balls.

Her modifications enhanced her strength and durability, but she is far from the strongest member of her team. For close quarters combat, she relies mainly on her retractable claws that paralyze those they scratch. Their effects can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour depending the size and vitality of her victim.

Lacking an aquatic-based team she could join at the time, Irene was placed in the Jade Jackal Squad. Normally, her job is to buff up her teammates before building up her finishing spells.

One of the members of the Jade Jackal Squad who work for Esmeralda the Emerald Witch. owns Esmeralda and he is free to use them in his stories as well, making them belong to two separate canons.

The four members of the squad are Barbara , Irene , Taiga , and Wrecka . You can check out their adventures in their first staring role.
Jade Jackal SquadTraveling through the wild can be dangerous, even along established roads. You never know when monsters and bandits could emerge from the woods to attack.
This was evident by the giant lizards surrounding the Jade Jackal Squad as they traveled on one such dirt road. Each was over three feet tall, and some were over five. They had multiple rows of sharp teeth and many were more than willing to show them off.
Dressed in forest green cloaks, Barbara, Wrecka, Irene, and Taiga were a team of mercenaries and their latest mission had taken then into deadly territory. Still, this was hardly the first time they had faced monsters, a common occupational hazard. Of course, each of them could be considered a monster depending on who you ask.
"Come at me, you oversized iguanas!" True to form, Wrecka drew her club and charged at the closest lizard. Back when she was an ordinary goblin, she had used a small studded wooden club, but after she was mutated by Esmeralda the Emerald Witch, she traded it i
