Well I couldn't think of what other type of body would be fitting for an animated comet and since there are other experiments that are rather similar I figured one more wouldn't hurt.

That was the idea. Just having a random being crashing in backyards wouldn't be enough. He needed to look like something that could threaten in entire planet so a comet was the best choice.
