Irida came to visit Akari to improve her Pokemon battling skills. After a long day of practicing, they rest in Akari's home in Jubilife Village. Irida takes the opportunity to ask Akari about her life before her arrival in Hisui to get to know her better. She tells the leader of the Pearl Clan that there was a game female friends would play with each other: footsie. Irida asks how it's played and Akari was more than happy to demonstrate. Admittedly it tickled a bit, but Irida enjoyed the experience very much. Since than Irida got to know Akari better, one footsie at a time.
