It worked for a bit...till he fell in love, and he actually enjoyed the company of his kids, normally he would leave so the mother's would raise them. Though their original mother was bat shit crazy, he found someone else that was actually like him. Ren. She made him more human, and less demon. She made him love her. Her kids love her, even Kane, who is the most troubled there, and most like his old self. He is now mostly, 3 years later, trying to get her son, rai, to stop growling, literally, down his neck at the thought of being with her.
