Description So I've finally decided to do the unthinkable: Change one of my old Pokemon OC's into a non-Pokemon character. I haven't used my old Mienshao robot Alex  in well over two years, so I decided to revamp him completely and change him into something more original in terms of character and design. I also decided to combine him with MG-77  as both are robotic weasels, and I haven't used either in a long time.

—————————————————————————————————

Alex was originally a human who volunteered for an experiment on robotics, but instead he was experimented on and turned into an anthropomorphic robot weasel under the code name "MG-77", and was almost forced to be a weapon for a mad scientist, but he broke free of control. Now he fights the organization that transformed him and fights against evil robots and monsters along with Xander .

Alex can be rather cocky and sarcastic, and often really energetic, having a rather interesting sense of humor. He can be quite agile when angered, and usually tends not to be around large crowds or in public areas much, preferring to be more around close friends and allies of his. He has the abiltity to create a holographic cloak of his original human form, as his transformation to a robot weasel was permanent, but he prefers staying in robot form most of the time other than in situations where he needs to be in human form.

In terms of abilities and functions, Alex has a very flexible neck and body with very quick-moving articulation. He can emit laser blades from the sides of his arms that can cut through almost any material, or he could change them into fans for gliding and air boosts. Alex's power source is a magic crystal that can provide him with energy for a very long time, as well as granting him the ability to use wind abilities.

His eyes are LED and can be used to show his expression. His nose lacks nostrils but he can smell with hidden sensors embedded within the metal, and it is also part of his cooling system and will get cold and wet like an animal nose would. His mouth is a permanent expression and lights up whenever he speaks, flashing with each syllable. He has a plug at the end of his tail, but it's really there for emergency power and is for the most part purely aesthetical. Alex is also very surprisingly lightweight for a robot, even one that's only about 5 feet tall.

—————————————————————————————————

Alex's appearance and abilities were inspired by the Kamaitachi  from Japanese mythology, as well as Mienshao from Pokemon and Kyukimon from Digimon, among other fictional weasels. Design aspects are taken from my Pokeroids, which themselves are loosely inspired by the Mega Man aesthetic (specifically X, Zero and ZX) for robot character designs, albeit more streamlined and less overly detailed, blocky and mech-like. In a way, he is sort of a non-Pokemon version of Accel, but is not a replacement for that character.

Inspiration for Alex's design:
- Kamaitachi (Japanese mythology)
- Mienshao (Pokemon)
- Kyukimon (Digimon)
- Hurricaune the Wolveroid (Mega Man ZX)

Don't ask where I got the idea for the plug tail, it was just a weird idea I thought of when I designed him,

Thanks, I took a lot of inspiration from, Pokemon, Digimon, Mega Man (especially X and Zero), Sonic and various anime series.

I'm glad that you're branching out in terms of designing and not just focusing on Pokemon stuff. I still like Pokemon of course but it's good to have variety!

This updated design is pretty cool too. The tail plug was a nice touch~

Yeah, I wanted to take a break from Pokemon, as well as try out my newer robot style on non-Pokemon creatures. No surprise I went with a weasel. To think that years back, my robots looked so cartoonish, now they're more anime-influenced.

His overall character design. The fact that his nose is a sensor and a coolant so it actually gets wet like a real animal nose. Also even though his plug tail is redundant to some extent I still think its cool he can plug it in to an emergency socket in a crisis.

I put a lot of thought into my robot designs. Most people design robot characters that look aesthetically cool, while I rather go for simple and streamlined and focus more on how the robot should function, while still making it look interesting and unique. I tend to go with anthro animal robots because I feel there are already enough humanoid robots out there and there's not too many animal-based robots.

I just like anthros. Not sure why. It ALL started with Naomi the Lopunny.
But I get what you are saying. Anibots are super rare compared to traditional bots.

They can cut through metal, so he CAN superheat them, so to an extent, yeah.

They're actually sickles, not swords, but glad you like him.

You mean those curved hook swords?

Yeah i like him. It is a breath of fresh air to see a common mustelid again.

Yeah, but there are different kinds of bladed weapons than just swords. The weapon I'm talking about is a Japanese weapon known as a Kama , which is what gives half of the name of the "kamaitachi", the "itachi" part meaning "weasel".

And you know that I usually gravitate towards making mustelid characters.

Did you most of the japanese weapons used to be farming tools?

I think you're starting to make me Love Mustelidae.
