Maria is the loving mother of Josiah , though she can often embarrass him by talking about him in a childish way. She was employed by Arcanis Labs to be the cook for the company, mainly for non-robotic clients that visit the company (as robots don't need to eat), and Josiah doesn't really like it.

She is rather kindhearted and very passionate about her work, she doesn't like to make mistakes, and if you point out she made a mistake, she will deny it. She REALLY loves her son, though Josiah wants to be treated more like an adult and be on his own, which is why it annoys him that she is now being employed by the same company.

Maria's functions are not that different from Josiah's, though she doesn't turn her arms into drills, she CAN project laser claws to dig, while having a drill in her mouth much like Austin does. Her nose is part of her cooling system and gets cold and wet like a regular badger nose. When she speaks, her mouth doesn't move, and instead the "lipstick" on her face lights up and glows.
