Description
"I'm not only an automobile; I'm an automobile enthusiast."Sure, other Decepticons may scoff at his decision to go with a land-based alternate mode, but Knock Out couldn't care less. He knows the value of looking good and isn't afraid to let others know it. It's not simply his own lines he's interested in; he has an appreciation for well-built mechanical bodyforms of all sizes and functions... and a nasty penchant for tearing them apart after he's done admiring them. Slick, sly and snobbish, he's the Decepticons' medic, though he professes both a preference and proficiency for dis-assembly. However, his medical skill has kept him in high demand; he's even performed vital and experimental surgeries on Megatron.
While not entirely a coward, Knock Out also knows a good thing or two about self-preservation. When the going gets tough, Knock Out gets going–the opposite direction. He has no qualms with abandoning ship if only to save his hide, even if it means betraying a comatose leader or deserting altogether. He doesn't get the most respect on the Nemesis, either. Show him some kindness, and hey, maybe he'll stick by your side. Both in the operation room and on the battlefield, Knock Out typically works with his brutish partner Breakground. Knock Out is the speedster of the duo, swiftly striking his victim's vulnerables with his Energon prod in debilitating sneak attacks while Breakdown goes the "massive smackdown" route with his raw power. And if he's either cornered or outmatched by any Autobots, there's one thing he'll surrender in his own way: Join the WINNING team.

I believe Knockout here is the first Trasnformers character I've been introduced to since Transformers Prime. And I've had some time to draw him carefully while paying homage to the Prime Version by giving him some accessories that were on Prime such as his staff and his circular saw hand to "surgically" remove anything while in operation med rooms or in battle. He's still one of my favorite characters, even if anyone doesn't like him, I still appreciate him for what he is, since I've done some very close studying about the character more.
Alright, time for a REAL serious chat. I gave very serious thought FOR THE FIRST TIME to explicitly calling out Knockout as being gay in his bio by making reference to Breakdown being his conjunx endura (which coincidentally was recently announced to be the case in the comics), but ultimately decided against it. Now, I am absolutely 100% for gay representation in media, and I am very glad to see IDW taking the initiative on this in the comics (even if I didn't read it that much). However, the reason I decided not to go through with it it is twofold. Firstly, I have never made reference to any previous character's sexual/romantic preference, gay or straight. I feel like calling out ONLY Knockout's implies that everyone else is straight and that's "normal", and his being gay is only worth mentioning because it's "abnormal". And that's not what I believe. Secondly, maybe an immoral, narcissistic, conceited butcher isn't the best example to hold up as the inaugural LGBT Transformer? Just a thought. Anyway, I'm not sure I should have even brought this up, but in my head Knockout is gay, just not necessarily at the exclusion of all other characters. Feel free to accept him as such or not, I've left the possibility open for either. I just really hope I haven't given offense to anyone (unless you're a homophobic DICK, in which case you can fuck off).
Up next: Downshift (Kinda my take on him...)
