Ratchet is the Autobots' Chief Medical Officer. If something's broke, he can fix it. Ratchet is known for his irreverent bedside manner; he loves having a good time, and his party-loving nature has given him a dry wit. He is not a particularly mighty warrior, which sometimes leads him to believe that he is expendable. Optimus Prime has trouble convincing Ratchet that this is far from the truth. Although he's a healer, Ratchet often finds himself on the front lines of combat and, on occasion, the last hope the Autobots have. These pressures are sometimes too much for him to handle, but Ratchet ultimately never gives up. More Importantly, he is devoted to saving life, no matter what form it takes, and no matter whose it is. and probably the bravest of them all. He'll risk his life to pull any wounded comrade from the battlefield. Indeed, he did not join Optimus Prime's team to be a soldier; rather, he's there to save lives, and thinks Prime is the best chance the universe has for peace. A medic who dislikes violence, Ratchet's well-armed appearance is more due to being an improviser with surgical tools, such as his tyrrenium buzzsaw, which he discovered he had a penchant for due to his early experiences as a tool-and-die maker. When combat is unavoidable, he can employ these makeshift weapons with surprising agility for his size. Years of being at the heart of the war have gradually acclimated Ratchet to the heat of battle. He's taken on the likes of the Decepticons' toughest warriors and is always throwing himself into the midst of the fighting, if it means he gets to defend his fellow Autobots and help save the day. Nonetheless, he remains one of the most genuinely kind members of the Autobots, valuing their friendship and camaraderie above all else, and would never betray their trust. He may not be the strongest Autobot, but damned if he's not one of the most dependable. Although he's great at fighting, he never wanted to be in the middle of the war against Megatron and his Decepticon army, but if that's where fate puts him, he'll do his best to keep his comrades safe and sound.

Ok, as far as I know, Ratchet has also been one of my favorite characters since seeing the live-action version years ago. But the design I liked best is the Aligned version of Ratchet from the Ultimate pop-up universe book. And his designs are much attuned to the pop-up universe as 100% while his behavioral aspects come from 90% of Movie Ratchet, 85% of Animated Ratchet, and equally 100% of G1 Ratchet to the extent of it. However, his alt mode is much more closely to that of Prime universe such as Life signal pad, and his arm blades that make him an energetic combatant if he's been called "Old" as an insult, taken a HUGE massive influence from The Lego Movie's Vitruvius being called "Old" as an insult and then surprises everyone by being experienced when he singlehandedly destroyed the robots before his death. So yeah, I guess I did that very well with him.
