They did say Linkle was originally going to be Hyrule Warrior Link's younger cousin. At this rate she is his sister. XD

So far though, the Famitsu article regarding Hyrule Warriors Legends states she's a girl from a village with lots of cuckoos that aspires to be like the Heroes of Hyrule. No indication she's related to Link is ever done.

Calling her Link's sister was a mistranslation...and I have no idea where the hell you made the rest of the backstory from.

You know where I read it from? I read it from a video talking about Linkle's concept. And I recommend being a little nicer than yet. I didn't make it up.
In the original concept she was meant to be Link's sister figure in Hyrule Warriors, which I know is mistranslated but you get the idea. And the whole why she was scrapped or why she was brought in story isn't mine, it was meant to substitute what little info why they did. I did know she was scrapped, alot of original characters for the game was mostly scrapped. The only few that made it in were Lana and Cia basically. Β Β

Well most of the Dynasty Warriors team that worked on HW did a concept race for nintendo, and Linkle was one of the designs and they didn't want it. Β
