Remote Control System (R.C.S.) TH-1X heavy assaultboat, a collaboration of SoroSuub Corporation and Corellia StarDrive (C.S.D.), was a one of it's kind starship. It was unique because it had no pilot. As the name suggests the first versions of this craft were controlled remotely, from a command cruiser, that could only be away up to 100k kilometers form the assaultboats. With coming of the experimental version TH-1X-1 and the operational one, code named TH-1A, the vessels begun to have an autonomous contol system in a form of an AI, still being capable to give back the control to a command center.
The basic armament of the craft was a pair of coupled heavy laser connons, by SoroSuub, a light automatic blaster and usually an ion cannon, both at the top of the longest pylon. The ship was capable of taking on board an additional set of different firing solutions, like attachable rockets or topedos. It could take up to twelve of these on the main pylon, and additonally four, attached to the ends of the small pylons. With such firepower this class of assaultboats was a very dangerous opponent.
The Heavy Assaultboat was used by the fleets of Sluis-Van-Sector Independent Republic and Corellian Remote-Systems during the Clone War, though with little success. Galactic Republic forces quickly learned to exploit it's main weakness - the communication system. Republican, and later also Implerial, fighter pilots usually attacked the ship's antenas on the rear, causing it loose connection with the command cruiser, thus rendering them useless. The AI system of the ships was not good enough to actively fight against naturally inteligent pilots. Eventually it was withdrawn and the project itself cancelled, even though a TH-2A version with new AI and communication systems was almost ready. A living crew version of the craft was also being constructed during the time, but it faced the same doom as it's AI counterpart. The unique cross shape of the project was yet to be seen on the battlefields of the galaxy many years later, this time in the form of the famous Slayn & Korpil's B-Wing starfighter.
The craft is of my own design, like the story behind it, though set in Star Wars universe during an alternative version of the Clone War (also changed to my liking).

Whoa this looks just like the new resistance bomber in TLJ, but you made this before that film was announced.

Man...this could be totally used for the Sequel-Trilogies even with this set in the Clone Wars...
