Description This is my coloring of deep-wulf 's Battlemage Ink

Went with a black character because it seemed right. In my mind, it's a Ley line Walker from Rifts, but really it could come from anywhere. Colors are mine, original artwork is deep-wulf Great stuff. If you haven't checked out his gallery , do so IMMEDIATELY!

Edit: Forgot to color the eyes, and I fixed a few shadows that were bothering me.

Did a second version as well. It's here.

Nice! I like the primary palette choice. And thanks for taking the time to do it!

Thanks! I was going for earthy colors for everything. This is about the best I've ever done in terms of subtle lighting effects. I might do another version with some alternate colors.

As a general rule I use layers of color over inks in photoshop, usually overlay, darken or lighten layer effects, depending on the need. And usually I add shadows and highlights directly to my color as well. I went with shadows and highlights on separate layers, plus used a lot of the multiply effect. Also used the dissolve effect for the first time (on the bottom layer of the undershirt). I like how it came out. I tried bulking out the lips a bit, but I wasn't happy with any version, so thin lips it is.

This helped a lot for the skin tone: www.erdemyilmaz.com.tr/wp-cont…
