The paper doll idea is good, but some photoshop touchup afterwards would give you a better final product than either method alone. I'm assuming you print off your "models", so keeping the original image to overlay for lighting modification might be good, and you can remove the white lines of the paper edges, as well as fuzz the other edges so they blend like a rounded person than a piece of paper.

You know, sometimes I can't tell the "paper doll" manips you put up from photoshopped ones.

Every manip I did before SHR Inc. Ad 8 is a textbook manip. I've stuck with doing "paper dolls" because it is , in my opinion, much easier to establish interaction between the subject and the scene.
