(The Lion Guard: Return to the Pride Lands)
(Kopa tells Vitani about Imani’s reason for defecting and everything that Imani did for him and his family)

VITANI (curious): Just out of curiosity, Kopa, how is this even possible that you have been able to come back alive and well?

KOPA: Thanks to an old friend.

KASI: Err, okay.

VITANI: Who?

[Imani steps forward into Vitani and her Lion Guard’s view upon knowing that Kopa is referring to her]

IMANI: I suppose that would be me.

[Vitani and her Lion Guard are very shocked at seeing Imani and hearing her reveal herself as Kopa’s old friend who helped contribute to Kopa surviving Zira’s attack on his life]

TAZAMA: Hiyo Kali!

VITANI: You? Imani?

KOPA (answering for Imani): It’s true. I had been under her care ever since after Zira attacked me in cold and gave me up for dead.

[Vitani, Shabaha, Tazama, Kasi, and Imara are really confused at this as Kopa continues]

KOPA (continuing): As shocking as it may sound and hard to accept, Scar and Zira were why Imani defected from the rest of Zira’s Pride and became my guardian. When Scar took over the Pride Lands and turned it into a wasteland while he was around in the fur, Scar eventually corrupted Zira’s heart beyond repair and changed her followers’ cause from protective Pride Landers to conquering Outsiders. And then, Zira’s complete devotion to Scar and her attack on my life completely destroyed her relationship with Imani by changing their relations and connections with each other from best friends to enemies. I had been willing to give Imani a second chance. She and her family have been wishing an end to Zira’s journey on the Circle of Life as much as I have.

[Vitani, Shabaha, Tazama, Kasi, and Imara are very shocked at this entire story as they realize that Zira had betrayed and lied to them]

TAZAMA: And why did risk your life as well as your place in our Pride to save Kopa?

IMANI: Because even though I did not first meet Kopa myself until I saved him from the aftermath of Zira’s attack on his life, he’s the only one I have closest to a son. I had to. I was also doing it for Vitani. Besides, as for why I risked and walked out on my place amongst our fellow Outsiders, it was because I had come to decide that as a mother and mate, it is my duty to protect my family, whether it be in the Outlands or somewhere else.

VITANI (to Imani with very great gratitude and respect): Thank you for taking such very great care of Kopa, Imani. That really means a lot.

IMANI: You’re welcome, Vitani.

VITANI (acknowledging Kopa’s mention of Zira): As for Zira, Zira’s completed her journey on the Circle of Life.

[Kion and his Lion Guard, Azaad, Kopa, Imani, Koman, Sanura, Janja and Jasiri and their Hyenas are all very astonished at this news]

KIARA (who along with Kovu have arrived to see that things were under control): Come to Pride Rock, Kion. We’ll explain everything there.

[Agreeing to Kiara’s offer, Kion sends Janja and Jasiri and their Hyenas, and Mzingo and his Vultures back to their homes while the others go on into the Pride Lands]
