Description What if Kovu finds Kopa
(The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride/The Lion Guard)
(Zira and Nuka on trial)

A few months later is when Kiara has her first hunt. And because Kovu and Kopa showed her how to be a very great hunter, Kiara is able to succeed in her first hunt on her own. Then that evening, Zira and Nuka are watching Pride Rock, discussing what had happened with the fire rescue plan.

NUKA: I can’t believe the fire rescue didn’t work.

ZIRA: Me either, Nuka. It seems that Simba did not fall for it as we hoped he would. But now it is time.

NUKA: To do what?

ZIRA: Time to do an ambush and kill Simba.

But just at that moment, Zira and Nuka do not realize they have been caught red handed by some massive buffalos and Shujaa. Before they even know it, Zira and Nuka are apprehended by Shujaa and the massive buffalos and brought to Pride Rock where the Royal Family and the Animals of the Pride Lands are gathered. Little do Zira and Nuka know that they are being put on trial as was already being planned for some time. Zira and Nuka cannot believe what is going on.

GIRAFFES: It’s Zira and Nuka.

MONKEYS: I can’t believe it.

RHINOCEROSES: This is it for them. They’re going to get what they deserve.

Once Zira and Nuka are straight in the center of the spot where they are facing the Royal Family (while Kovu and Kopa are out of sight until the moment is right), Zazu, the Pride, and the Lion Guard while the Animals of the Pride Lands along with the Outsiders who have come to see what will happen next watch on.

SIMBA: Zira and Nuka, you have been brought before the Royal Family, the Lion Guard, and the entire kingdom to face judgement for crimes against the Pride Lands. (Turning to Zazu) Announce the charges.

ZAZU: Here and now, Zira and Nuka are being charged with the following crimes as follows: attempted assassinations of innocent cubs, attempted murder, threatening innocent children, supporting a tyrant, leading others especially their own family astray, conspiracy to murder, disobeying a previous given sentence, attempting to give up a cub up for death instead of protecting him, falsely accusing a noble king for the death of a tyrant who did nothing but bring disaster such as a drought on this kingdom through overhunting, child mistreatment, overseeing child labor, attempted destruction of property, and treason.

Zira and Nuka cannot believe what is happening as they realize they have been put on trial. The Animals of the Pride Lands cannot believe what they are seeing and hearing. But they all agree with and know the facts about what Zira and Nuka have done.

SIMBA (to the whole kingdom): And now, sentencing of Zira and Nuka will be handed down by the future King himself along with the firstborn Prince of the Pride Lands himself who will also be telling their stories as proof of the charges given against Zira and Nuka as they stand here to face their attempted murderers and manipulators.

Simba, the rest of the Royal Family, the Pride, Vitani, her Lion Guard, Imani, Koman, and Sanura step aside to reveal Kopa and Kovu. Zira and Nuka go wide eyed with shock as the presence of Kopa and Kovu alive and well in the fur freezes their blood respectively.

ZIRA: No! It can’t be! That’s--

NUKA: Impossible!

KOPA: The only thing that is impossible, Zira and Nuka, is--

KOVU: Nothing!

Zira and Nuka are left speechless by this defense.

ZIRA (begging): I beg of you, Kovu. I am your mother. I’ve been the one who has nurtured you and protected you.

KOPA (shooting back): You dishonored and abandoned your rights as a mother when you attacked me and left me for dead and then tried to give Kovu up for death and leave him at my father’s mercy!

KOVU (addressing Nuka): Just like you dishonored and abandoned your rights as a brother when you always bullied me, called me a little termite, and then attacked me out of resentment and left me for dead. Vitani only has one brother now and one who is not here today but is also proud to call a brother as well.

Vitani realizes that Kovu is referring to Kion as she agrees.

KOVU (to Zira): As for you, Zira. Kopa’s right in what he said about you. When you offered me to Simba for him to kill when I was just a cub and were perfectly willing to leave me at his mercy, I was more terrified at that moment than I have ever been my whole life!!! What kind of mother would do that to her own child?! Ever since I was born, all you've done was lie to, use and mistreat me as well as Vitani, all so we would do your dirty work! Well, no more! Vitani and I have already found a place where we’re free to be ourselves and live our own lives! With people who really love and care for me and her!

VITANI (to Zira): One of the reasons I always really enjoy being with Kopa, Zira, is because ever since he and I were cubs, he has been able to succeed where you failed. And that is, to give me the proper love and care that I deserve (Kopa agrees).

KOPA: And now, especially you, Zira, before Kovu and I pass judgement on you, it is time for you to face the truth of Scar’s death and meet the ones who turned you and Nuka in.

The Animals of the Pride Lands part for none other than Shenzi, Banzi, and Ed along with their Hyenas to approach.

SHENZI: That’s right, Zira and Nuka. We Hyenas were the ones who turned you in. We have made a promise here on now with the Royal Family that in exchange for turning you two in, we Hyenas are ready and willing to respect the Circle of Life in the ways where you and Scar failed. You see, Scar made the same mistake that you have. During the confrontation between him and Simba, Scar begging for mercy and in fear for his life attempted to sacrifice us by pitting the blame of Mufasa’s death and the Pride Lands’ disaster on us as well as when he called us Hyenas the enemy. That is why we did away with Scar as we had also gotten tired of his lies, derogatory treatment, and broken promises over that we Hyenas would never go hungry again. Besides, Simba and Zazu are right when they said that it was wrong for you to support a tyrant like Scar.

SHENZI & BANZI (turning to Ed): Ed? (Ed nods in confirmation and agreement)

KOPA (him and Kovu turning their attention back to Zira and Nuka as Shenzi, Banzi, Ed, and their Hyenas step aside): And so, Zira. My and Kovu’s judgement is as follows, in the first form of punishment as was already agreed, you and Nuka have already been hereby disavowed, cast out, Fallen.

Zira and Nuka are shocked with fear at this.

KOVU (to Zira and Nuka): And now for the final form of your punishment, Zira and Nuka, you two are hereby sentenced to be consumed by the Crocodiles. You two will therefore be taken to Lake Matope where you will be cast into the water.

KOPA: There, you will know the rightful form of pain and suffering fit for those like you as you two are ripped apart and devoured alive by the Crocodiles.

The Royal Family and the Pride are astonished at the decision of the sentence while the Animals of the Pride Lands agree with it and Zira and Nuka are completely horrified and powerless to stop what happens next.

SIMBA (signaling to Shujaa and the massive buffaloes with him to carry out the sentence): Goodbye.

As Shujaa and the massive buffaloes with him take them away to Lake Matope, Zira and Nuka to of no avail try to beg for their lives as tears of fear and sadness run down on their faces.

ZIRA & NUKA: NO! PLEASE! NO! PLEASE, KOVU AND KOPA! NOOOOO!

It is too late for Zira and Nuka as they upon arrival at Lake Matope are cast into the water. But before Zira and Nuka can hit the water, Makuu and his Crocodile Float have them in their jaws tearing them to pieces and completing Zira and Nuka’s journeys on the Circle of Life.

RISALA (a member of the Outsiders): But if Zira and Nuka are no more, who’s gonna be in charge of us Outsiders now?

KOVU: There won’t be anyone to be in charge of you. Because from this day forward and with the agreement of the rest of the Royal Family, the Lion Guard, the Pride, and the entire kingdom, you are hereby welcomed back into Simba’s Pride and recognized as Pride Landers once and for all as your sentence of exile is hereby expunged. Welcome to the Pride Lands. Now come on over.

KIARA (to Simba): You said it yourself before, Daddy, ‘We are one.’

Simba is amazed at what Kiara just said as he shows himself to be proud of Kiara for finally being able to figure out the meaning of what he once taught Kiara when she was a cub. The Outsiders cannot believe what they just heard Kovu announce and they feel gratitude for being welcomed back into the Pride Lands and Simba’s Pride as they see they can finally have a better life while at the same time, the Animals of the Pride Lands. The next morning, the entire Pride, the Lion Guard, Timon, Pumbaa, and Zazu gather to see Rafiki wed Kovu and Kiara as well as Kopa and Vitani at the same time. After that, Kovu and Kiara along with Kopa and Vitani follow Simba and Nala to the promontory of Pride Rock where they roar respectively before they do it together as originally followed by the rest of the Pride while the Animals of the Pride Lands do their respective sounds in celebration. At that same moment, light shines through the daylight clouds as the wind blows against Simba’s mane and Simba hears his father Mufasa.

MUFASA: Well done, my son. We are one.
