[After when Simba and Nala finish their reunion with their respective brothers, they and the rest of the Royal Family and the Lion Guard, Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, and Rafiki turn back to Kopa.]

SIMBA: Kopa, where have you been all this time? We thought you were gone forever. How did you survive?

NALA: Yeah. We were so worried about you.

KOPA: I was at the Hakuna Matata Jungle. Even though it was not entirely the best solution to my problem, I believed that living at the Hakuna Matata Jungle would help me be out of Zira’s reach ever since she attacked me and gave me up for dead. As for how I survived, I used what you both taught me when it comes to how to survive in the event of something bad happening to me.

KION: Then what made you back?

SARAFINA: Yes. We would love to hear about that.

KOPA: An old friend of mine did.

SARABI: And who is this old friend of yours?

[In response, Kopa does a “come on over” gesture with his pointy finger on his left paw to Kovu who comes over to Kopa’s side. The Royal Family and the Lion Guard are in shock at seeing Kovu.]

KOPA: Kovu was the one who found me at the Hakuna Matata Jungle and helped me prepare for my return.

NALA: (to Kovu) When did you find my son at the Hakuna Matata Jungle?

KOVU: When he was a teenager and I was still a Cub.

SIMBA: Why did you risk your place amongst the Outsiders to find my son even if it meant giving up your role as Scar’s heir?

KOVU: Because aside from your daughter Kiara and your other son Kion as well as Afua, your son Kopa is my only friend. I was also doing it for my sister Vitani. She really cherishes him and missed him very much.

SARABI: And how did you know my grandson Kopa was at the Hakuna Matata Jungle?

KOVU: Your mate King Mufasa appeared to me and told me. For some reason, he sensed my desire to find Kopa and he gave me Kopa’s location.

KION: You never had that desire before.

SARAFINA: So, how is that possible?

KOVU: Because it didn’t occur to me until after I awoke from a coma that I got from Nuka’s attack on my life.

FULI: Wait, what?

[The rest of the Royal Family and the Lion Guard come to a sudden stop upon hearing what Kovu just said.]

KOVU: Nuka’s attack on my life was why my role as Scar’s heir was taken from me and why I was absent myself.

ONO: So that’s why Zira was much more insane lately.

KOPA: (speaking for Kovu) Yes, Ono. Nuka was why Kovu defected. A week later after Kion roared Zira and her Pride all the way out of the Outlands, Nuka’s resentment towards Kovu eventually expanded from annoyance and frustration to pure cold blooded murder. And then it didn’t take long before Nuka decided to take Kovu’s life.

KION: (to Kovu) But Nuka was your brother. How is that possible?

KOVU: Because ever since I was born and Scar named me his heir, Nuka had always resented me. And from Nuka’s point of view, he also felt that Zira never valued him and always preferred me.

BUNGA: But that should never have given him the justification to do that to you.

KOVU: You would be correct, Bunga. It never should have. However, Nuka had no interest other than gaining Zira’s attention, love, respect, support, and approval.

KOPA: And then when Kovu found me at the Hakuna Matata Jungle and we got to catch up on the time we missed, he offered to prepare me for my and his return so that we could put an end to the threat of Zira and Nuka once and for all.

KOVU: Even though I didn’t want to get Zira and Nuka killed at first, but after Nuka try to kill me, I had to come to accept and realize that if Zira and Nuka were allowed to be spared and exiled again even if to show that I’m not on their level, it would only give them an excuse to come after us as many times as they wanted which would have led to more bloodshed that would threaten the stability of the Circle of Life and endanger the safety and well being of everyone and everything that we love and care for.

KOPA: I have been willing to give Kovu a second chance. He had been wishing an end to Zira and Nuka’s journeys on the Circle of Life as much as I and my other friends have.

KOVU: While it is true that I found Kopa at the Hakuna Matata Jungle…

KOPA: But if there’s anyone you have to thank for my survival, it’s this other old friend of mine.

SARABI: And who is this other old friend yours?

[In response, Kopa does a “come on over” gesture with his pointy finger on his left paw to Imani who comes over to Kopa’s side. The Royal Family and the Lion Guard are in shock at seeing Imani.]

KOPA: Mom, Dad, I want to introduce you to my mentor and adoptive mother Imani.

NALA: (recognition) Imani?

SIMBA: You two know each other?

NALA: Yes. Before I left the Pride Lands to find help.

SIMBA: (turns back to Imani) Is this true, Imani, that you adopted and mentored my son?

[Imani is afraid to speak up due to being in the presence of the King of the Pride Lands himself, but she does and with Kopa’s encouragement.]

IMANI: (realizing that Simba is referring to her having adopted and mentored Kopa) It is true that I adopted and mentored him. I chose my side when I saved your son from the aftermath of Zira’s attack on his life.

SIMBA: And why did you save my son Kopa?

IMANI: (with some tears in her eyes) Because he’s the only one I have as a son. (Now calm) I was also doing it for Vitani. She really cherishes him and has missed him very much, not to mention that I was also doing it to protect my family. After when Zira attacked your son and gave him up for dead, I realized that as long as I continued to be part of Zira’s Pride, I would only be endangering the safety and wellbeing of my mate and my daughter.

KOPA: And so, when Imani and her family and I got to the Hakuna Matata Jungle, Imani adopted me and has been raising me as her own son. (Presenting Shere Khan, Afua, Azola, Binga, and Azaad along with Mheetu and Malka) And it was at the Hakuna Matata Jungle where I met my other friends I made there including Shere Khan, my uncles Mheetu and Malka.

KIARA: (to Simba) And then when you sent me to find help because of the threat of Zira and Nuka’s new Pride of Evil Lions, and Vitani and the rest of the Outsiders joined me after Zira and Nuka locked them out of the Outlands, it was at the Hakuna Matata Jungle where I and Vitani and Tiifu and Zuri found Kopa and Kovu.

KOVU: And so now, here we are.

KOPA: I have been willing to give Imani, and Azola a second chance. They and Imani’s family and my uncles and my other friends I made at the Hakuna Matata Jungle had been wishing an end to Zira and Nuka’s journeys on the Circle of Life as much as I and Kovu and Vitani and the rest of the Outsiders have.

[The entire Royal Family and the Lion Guard and the Pride and Zazu and Rafiki are very astonished at everything that was explained and laid out in front of them, and they are left speechless for a moment before they all form smiles on their faces and cheer.]

SIMBA: (referring to Imani, Koman, Sanura, Azola, Shere Khan, Kovu, Vitani, and the rest of the Outsiders and addressing himself and the rest of the Royal Family and the Pride and the Lion Guard and Zazu and Rafiki) Well, if you trust them, Kopa my son, then that’s good enough for me and the rest of our family and friends and the Pride.

KION: (happy) If you ask me, it’s something I can get used to.

ONO: Affirmative.

BUNGA: Un-Bungalievable!

FULI: Yeah.

ANGA: Yep.

BESHTE: Like my dad always says, “Live long enough, and you’ll see everything.”

SIMBA: Let’s go home. (Adding in all of the Outsiders and all of other Kopa and Kovu’s friends and allies) All of us.
