Description
What if Simba dies by falling into the sinkhole(The Lion Guard: Bunga and the King)
(Kopa survives falling into the sinkhole while Simba doesn't and merges with Kopa for a while)
(Nala and Simba are seen standing on top of Pride Rock)
NALA: Kion? Kiara? Kopa? Let's go! We're gonna be late for the elephants' concert.
SIMBA: You know it's considered an insult if the royal family is not there for the first song.
(Kion comes out followed by Kiara and Kopa)
(Side note: In many continuities involving Kopa, Kopa is attacked and given up for dead by Zira after which Kopa decides to leave the Pride Lands to be out of Zira’s reach. But this time, despite being attacked and given up for dead by Zira, Kopa decides not to leave the Pride Lands, and when he is a teenager, Kopa is found by Kion and he hangs out with him and his Lion Guard friends while reuniting with his family in the process)
KION: The first song's the best part!
KOPA: I agree.
KIARA: Race you both there.
KION: Oh, yeah.
KOPA: Not for long.
(The cubs start to race)
NALA: Yes. But we don't need to race.
(Ono flies down)
ONO: Kion! Kion! We've got antelopes stuck in a mud pool near Chekundu Cliffs.
KION: Anyone hurt?
ONO: No, but they're really stuck. That big rainstorm last night must've caused a mud slide.
KION: Dad? I'm gonna have to miss the elephants' rainy season concert.
SIMBA: It's okay, Kion. I'm sure the elephants will understand.
KOPA: Besides, little brother, even if the Elephants concert is only every now and then, the Elephants concert is not going anywhere.
NALA: Keeping the animals of the Pride Lands safe is your duty.
KION: Right. Let's go, Ono. Say hi to Ma Tembo and the elephants for me!
(Kion and Ono go towards the antelopes)
NALA: We will.
SIMBA: Stay alert, son! Come on. We still have a concert to go to.
KIARA: Do you think the elephants will do that song with all the really loud trumpeting?
NALA: They always do the song with the loud trumpeting. It's tradition.
KOPA: Always.
SIMBA: Sometimes I think my greatest duty as King is upholding the Pride Lands' traditions. And one day, it will be your duty, Princess. And you too, Prince.
(Kiara doesn’t know yet about Kopa’s future in his role as part of the Royal Family)
KIARA: Attending concerts is one duty I know I can handle.
KOPA: Me too.
(Kiara starts to walk)
(The ground is rumbling)
NALA: Simba? What is it?
SIMBA: Do you feel that?
KOPA: I’m feeling it too.
(Simba picks up one paw)
(The ground is rumbling)
NALA: (Yells) Kiara! Kopa! Move uphill! Now!
(Kiara stops)
SIMBA: Sinkhole! (Grunts) (Simba pushes Kiara out of the way and Nala grabs onto Kiara) Get back! (Grunts) (Simba tries to hold on) (Shouts)
KIARA: Daddy! Kopa!
NALA: Simba! Kopa!
(Simba and Kopa find themselves unable to hold on, and tumble into the sinkhole, causing Nala and Kiara great worry)
(Beshte helps an antelope)
BESHTE: "Twende Kiboko!"
(All grunting)
BUNGA: Giddy-up, anti-lanti-lope!
(All grunting)
(Ground rumbling)
BUNGA: Whoa! What was that?
(Ono flies up and looks)
ONO: Looking. (Gasps) Hapana! A sinkhole! Someone's fallen in... And I think it's the King and Kopa!
BUNGA: Simba? Kopa?
KION: Dad? Kopa? Are they all right?
ONO: Dad? Is he all right?
FULI: Kion, go. We got this.
KION: Thanks, Fuli. Ono, lead the way!
ONO: Affirmative!
(Kion and Ono go towards the skin hole)
BUNGA: Come on, move it! The sooner we get you outta here, the sooner we can help Kion!
BESHTE: Easy, Little B. I got just the trick. (Beshte lifts up an antelope) (Grunts) There we go!
BUNGA: Nice one, Big B. Now let's go help Kion save Simba and Kopa! Till the Pride Lands end...
FULI and BESHTE: Lion Guard defend!
(Bunga, Fuli and Beshte go towards the sinkhole)
NALA: Simba? Simba!
KIARA: Kopa? Kopa!
(Just then, Kopa emerges from a clump of rocks)
KOPA: (Shouts)
NALA: Kopa!
KIARA: Kopa!
KOPA: (Coughing) I'm... I'm okay, Mom! (Clears throat) I'm okay.
NALA: Can you climb out?
KOPA: I don't think so. There's nothing to grab onto. And I'm too far down to jump out.
KIARA: Where’s Daddy, Kopa?
KOPA: (suddenly glowing with Simba’s eyes) I don’t know! He somehow must have vanished under all of these rocks and merged with me!
(Seeing signs showing Simba having merged with Kopa, Nala and Kiara are puzzled as to how something like that can happen so mysteriously)
ONO: Kion! Over here!
(Ono and Kion come to the skin hole)
KION: Mom, Mom! Are Dad and Kopa okay?
NALA: I think so. But your big brother is stuck and he’s showing signs of that your father has vanished under the rocks and merged with your father.
(This leaves Kion puzzled at the mysterious event and revelation)
BUNGA: Don't worry, Your Majesty! Lion Guard to the rescue!
(Bunga, Fuli and Beshte go towards the sinkhole)
KION: Bunga! Wait!
BUNGA: "Zuka Zama!"…
KOPA: (to Bunga) I wouldn’t do that if I were you.
(Ono catches Bunga midair and keeps him on the high ground)
FULI: What happened, Prince Kopa? How'd you get down there?
KOPA: There was a sinkhole and my Dad and I fell in. And somehow, my Dad vanished under the rocks and merged with me.
(On hearing that revelation, Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, and Ono are puzzled as to how something like that so rare and mysterious can happen)
ONO: (before he and Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, Kiara, and Nala can mourn upon realizing that Simba vanishing under the rocks and merging with Kopa meant that Simba completed his journey on the Circle of Life) Sinkholes are fairly common after a big storm, Prince Kopa.
KOPA: (with an agreeable smile) You don't say.
KION: Don't worry, Dad. We'll find a way to get both of you outta there. How hard can it be? (to Ono) Ono, fly down and take a look.
ONO: Affirmative! I'll see what I can see. (Ono flies down itno the hole) Greetings, Prince Kopa!
KOPA: Hey, Ono.
ONO: Kion wanted me to check things out down here.
KOPA: And what do you see?
ONO: Uh... Looks like you're stuck in a hole?
KOPA: Yes. That's what it looks like to me, too.
ONO: Don't worry, Your Majesty. Kion will think of something. He always does. (Squawks)
(Ono flies out of the hole)
KION: Ono, report! Any roots they can grab hold of? Rocks they can climb? Anything?
ONO: Unfortunately, no. It's just a deep hole with no way out. And the walls are kind of crumbly.
(All gasp)
ONO: I'd, uh, appreciate it if you didn't send me down there again.
KION: Oh... Okay, Ono.
BESHTE: How deep is it? Can I see? (The skin hole starts to get bigger) Whoa!
NALA: Everyone, get back!
KIARA: (Screams)
(Kiara hangs onto the ledge)
KOPA: Sister Kiara!
FULI: "Huwezi!"
(Fuli goes and saves Kiara) (Grunts)
KIARA and FULI: (Gasping)
NALA: Kiara, are you alright?
(Nala hugs Kiara)
KIARA: Yeah, (to Fuli) thanks to you, Fuli.
FULI: Happy to do it.
KION: Okay. Everyone needs to stay back.
NALA: Kion's right. These sinkholes can get wider. And we don't want anyone else to fall in.
KION: Yeah. It's bad enough my big brother Kopa is stuck down there. (suddenly coming up with an idea to get Kopa out of the sinkhole) I have an idea. (to the Lion Guard) Lion Guard, you're with me. (to Nala) Be right back, Mom!
(Kion and the lion guard leaves)
NALA: Kopa, my big boy! Kion's got a plan to get you out. Just hang in there.
KOPA: Okay. But make it quick! We can’t be late for the Elephants’ concert!
(Kion and the Lion Guard come back and drag a tree)
(All grunting)
ONO: Looking good. Just keep going straight.
(All grunting)
ONO: That's it! We're there!
KION: We're gonna tip this tree down into the hole. Then you can just climb up.
KOPA: Great idea, Kion my little brother!
SIMBA: (speaking to Kopa in his mind) Be ready to jump, Kopa. I’m going to make you go fast!
KOPA: (speaking to Simba in his mind) Yes, Dad. (to the Lion Guard) All right, Lion Guard. We're ready.
BESHTE: "Twende Kiboko!" (Beshte pushes the tree into the hole) (Grunts)
(Just then, with sudden speed, Simba gives Kopa so much speed that Kopa is able to jump onto the log and run as fast as a Cheetah up the log and jump out of the sinkhole in time with a front flip out of the sinkhole’s reach which really shocks Nala, Kiara, Kion, and the Lion Guard)
ONO: Did we just see...
FULI: The firstborn Prince of the Pride Lands running with unimaginable speed and doing a front flip out of the sinkhole?
BESHTE: Like my dad always says, “Live long enough, and you'll see everything”.
TIMON and PUMBAA: (arrive on the scene and give Kopa lots of kisses) (When he and Pumbaa break apart from Kopa) And to think you were worried that we'd never find Kopa despite what happened to Simba.
PUMBAA: I'm sorry. I should've remembered. "Hakuna matata!"
