I like how you used 2 colors. The brown that is is used in shadows and light and the red for the finishing touch. Great job!

I really like the composition of this piece, also the shading and color choice are stunning, they're so soft and perfectly uniformed!
The only point i can suggest to improve is the torso anatomy because i can't really understand how he/she is turned, expecially the arm on the left...
By the way, the attention is focused on the blood drops and the wings that are really well done, like the scales!

Love was not a term he used. Love was not even something he believed in. Love was a human term that their females liked to use when they drew near their mating season, which, unlike the rest of the animal kingdom, seemed to be year-round.
He was not a creature who loved….
And yet… he loved his angels.
Two of them. Two little ones he had met so strangely over the course of his life. As a young man, one had fallen into his lap and had avoided being a meal by her strange actions. The other he had met as a figure in his prime. Drinking water from a little brook, she fluffed her feather up, allowing them to catch the sunlight.
These were his beloved ones, each containing the venom that kept them so close to him. It didn’t matter when they turned away; he knew he had done all he could for his beloved pets.
The grander was a symbol of power. She was loyal to him and him alone despite her continuous solemn attitude. The smaller was his little treasure. He loved the feeling of her feather’s beneath his fingers and how warm she felt whenever her little feet stepped onto his hand.
These were the ones her cherished, the ones he would keep for eternity…
The ones he would never allow to fly away…
