My entry for *Ysa 's historical Pokémon contest.The battle takes place shortly after Ho-Oh was born, long before the regions we know today existed. He doesn't fight directly, but offers his strength to the army defending him, the land he comes from and the Empress who possesses him.

Wow, I like all the thematic elements (journey, battle, magic powers) going on in this pic. You have a thorough sense of fantasy here and the composition is quite unique. It's like I'm riding high with them and about to plunge into action. Great consistent character design and nice textures too.
