found this while searching on the web and thought it was cool, but the way it was worded wasn't at all funny. I did some editing so it doesn't offend anyone, plus hey .50 cal is basically something that mix with the sniper makes a prefect couple.so if you do the math:
Sniper + .50 cal = death from afar
yeah, If i ever come to meeting one of those on the Battlefield, I hope I am on the other side of the barrel when it fires.

I still prefer 7,62x51mm but .50 CAL is excellent for terrorising the enemy I guess.

its a bit different when its a .50 cal, its a massive round, therefore produces a hell lot of energy, therefore unlike other sniper rounds the range increases drasticly, so much so that you'll never hear the crack or in this case the thunderus clap these rifles make
The rounds carry enough energy that hard targets arnt even safe. apcs, bunkers, steal plated walls, have no resistence against the .50
Plus The energy stored in the round itself after fired is so powerful that instead of normal cavitation on a soft target, your whole body exploads
i think the joke is that since unlike the range of other sniper weapons, you will never find the sniper wielding that weapon, and even if you do, no matter what kind of cover you have...your still going to die.

More than a few APCs are designed with .50 BMG as a specific round they're designed to defeat (and usually much higher, like 23mm cannon). This isn't anything that new, either. The BMP-1 can stop a 23mm round on its frontal arc and the M2 Bradley can stop 14.5mm from all angles (and more from the front). Bunkers, steel-plated walls, etc can stop a .50 BMG cold and tend to require anything from a shoulder-fired HEAT round to specially designed 5,000lbs air-dropped bombs to defeat. (Or larger, I have a friend who works in a bunker designed to stop a near miss from an atom bomb blast.)
And a .50 BMG has about 18,000 J of energy behind them, but they're still only punching a half-inch hole through someone. They might yaw or fragment (though fragmenting isn't likely at a long engagement range) but they won't magically cause your whole body to explode. Now if they hit a limb that limb is probably crippled for life and will probably be amputated, but people can and have survived being shot with a .50 BMG
