The shades an tones look good to me... an I agree.. I don't think the bottom one is really too large.. as just seeming off in placement.. my screen is a tad wonky.. so I can't be sure.
Still, I like these test.

I think the head is fine in the bottom because of the perspective ...and the only odd thing about the highlights I can think of, and this is being picky, is the light source dosn't seem to stay constants from the top position to the bottom in some places.
