I remember saying to someone in my last post with Windwaker Zelda that I thought it was weird that she had to transform so much to look like what any other Princess Zelda would look like. I thought I'd change her design a bit so that she retains her darker complexion while also having a royal garb that allows for more movement.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I am only a princess in name. It only makes sense that a ruler with no kingdom wouldn't need to settle down in some old, heavy castle. I thought it would be a better use of my time to slap the crew together and sail to Onset to enjoy our new freedom from Ganondorf's darkness. What was going to be a few days of catching our breath and sharing the sunset with link turned into an indefinite stay with my new lover. Saying good bye wasn't easy but you should have seen how many grown men I saw cry the day of my crews departure! 'Cut the waterworks! You're Pirates!'
It's been a year and I've settled in excellently! I would say Link's grandmother was hiding an extra arm with the amount of chores she can get done. She cooks three full courses of island food every day AND sews me new garments when I need them since the first one has become tattered and way too small to wear. You can see how fat I am now but I forgive Link, not a day goes by where that boy isn't showing me different parts of the island or caressing my growing gut.
To be honest... I've never been more happy in my entire life than right now."

Tetra turning into Zelda was probably the weakest part of the game, I think. Her original design is MUCH cuter, I think. The hybrid look you came up with is really nice too, though!

Definitely since they decide to lock her up right after! What a missed opportunity to have cool character interactions with Link and her crew as a brand new princess in the climbing tension of that part of windwaker... Oh well :0

Windwaker as a whole felt a tad rushed, in retrospect. Fewer dungeons, the triforce hunt, lower overall difficulty... I think they had to make choices during development that shortened Tetra's impact. Compare it to, say, Twilight Princess and Midna's role.

I can see where you're coming from. I did feel there was a lack of dungeons and the triforce hunt almost had me putting down the game since I first played it in my early teens. They did what they had to do I suppose. Too bad they couldn't make a full Majora's Mask style game for Toon Link or something where tetra isn't kidnapped at the beginning of the game like Phantom Hour Glass :0
Seeing her in her twilight princess form really threw me for a loop! Also just a side note, I love Midnas Lament quite a bit! Great piano melody! I thought she was done for when that was playing. I even ran to castle town as wolf link just to listen to it a little longer.

I'd kill for a new Majora's Mask style Zelda game. Windwaker's art style was fantastic, but they could do amazing things with Breath of the Wild's engine.
Twilight Princess has the strongest emotional impact of the Zelda series for me. You spend so much time with Midna that it hits you hard when she gets hurt.

I think it'd be cool to do a Majora's Mask game with Twilight Princess graphics. I consider that game to be a recolored Ocarina of Time anyway so I think the dark artstyle would be perfect for a remake.
There are a lot of highlights for me and that game. Still my favorite Link Design and it had some really creative items like the ball and chain and the top you get in the arbiter's layer.

I think Twilight Princess received disproportionate flak for being too similar to Ocarina of Time. There were so many interesting items, even if some of them, like the top, tended to be kind of useless in the field. In retrospect, it's a great game with a ton of content, especially compared to Skyward Sword or Windwaker.
Of course, that's the Zelda cycle in a nutshell.
