[NOTICE] This description contains spoilers for the finale of Mario's Madness V2. And yes, an FNF mod actually deserving of a spoiler tag. This mod is DEEP, y'all.

Pico is not having a good day. But then, has he ever?

His exes were gone for a long time. "Missing", the papers said. He never thought that, when he went to check up on them in their own home, a ghastly pair of hands would reach out and whisk him away to a world of horrors draped in the overalls of familiar video game characters. Escaping a lanky Luigi monster chasing him down a freeway, he certainly found Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Or rather...what remained of them, conjoined in a pile of guts and viscera. Writing in blood on the wall, their last throes; "BEWARE THE ULTRA M."

Now Pico is trapped. From cursed realm to cursed realm, he runs, escaping further twisted plumbers at every turn. Here, he had stumbled across the once gilded castle of Princess Peach. Only this one was...ravaged. Painted in garish purple tones and numbered fog. Men and women and...Garos(?) littering the forecourt as rotting corpses. And amongst the blood, another Mario. One utterly corrupted and ruined, shackled to yet another monster. A floating, skeletal torso with a massive, single eyeball.

Looks like Pico's gotta load up and rap his way out of a violent death once more. Who knows how long he can keep this up...?

I don't talk about it a lot, but yeah, I keep up with the FNF modding community, and of course that includes the latest hot shit that is Mario's Madness V2. I have my issues with it; I don't like the ending, the Power Star song was honestly disappointing, and...well, I feel that some of the shit that happens to Girlfriend feels like it runs headfirst into Ryona territory. And if you don't know what that is, for the love of your mortal soul, keep it that way. But I won't deny it's a MASSIVE labour of love for a game that seems to have stopped in development the second the Kickstarter met its goals. Funny, that. And without the usual trappings of the big-name FNF mods, so far at least, so that's kinda neat.

They outright said a V3 will never happen (and I can't blame them in the slightest for that, better quit while you're ahead), but that hasn't stopped some from making unofficial continuations. I mean, the mod ENDS on a cliffhanger of Pico stuck in the same situation; why wouldn't he run into a few more spectres BF never did? M's got a new plaything, after all. Mainly inspired by this "UST" song made by Jeeflymania on YouTube, based off of the vintage "M A R I O" ROMHack called DEATH CIPHER . Mainly, I just wanna gas this song up because it is that good shit. But I got inspired to at least take a crack at the concept. And of course, it was gonna be SMG0.

Fun fact tho, SMG4!Mario was considered for the mod very early on, but he was removed almost instantly due to a combination of issues with his sprites and that the team didn't really like SMG4. Which...makes you wonder why they ever considered him in the first place but whatever. Honestly, I'm shocked that there aren't many SMG4 mods at all, considering he rode that hype train during FNF's viral period like a dog humping his master's leg. It's mostly vocal swaps rn, mostly based around "It's Gotta Be Perfect", which is honestly kind of a shame. NGL I have an idea for a mod based around Meggy and her various...misfortunes but unless I can somehow get together a crack team of animators, coders, composers and artists, all for free...yeah not gonna happen. One day, maybe. Anyway, I'm rambling, sorry. The idea behind this is a What If where SMG0 takes over the kingdom the first time around, and it all kinda goes to hell. Also, sort of based off a fan series on the same concept by NO-NULL, check it here , though as one would expect my interp is a little more cryptid in construction. If I was making a hypothetical "fan continuation" mod, this would be where I'd introduce a character who wanted to help Pico escape...and, my own SMG4-flavoured EXE, if y'all remember her.

After all, who could ever forget their first SuNrIsE...?
