[Pearl's Apartment...well no, not really. This is someone else's apartment, probably renting it out while they go off elsewhere in the world. She's not sure why she's here. Maybe she just doesn't want to go back to her massive mansion with no Marina to talk with. She stormed off in a huff after work and she went to her OWN apartment. So Pearl decided to stumbled to this apartment she somehow had the keys to and keep to herself. It's dark, the TV is on, her can of Beast is almost empty and she's still upset. For whatever reason, she's watching the New Inkshire News Slot with the idol duo SPLAT AM, as it's late at night but time zones mean it's midday for them. News, as it seems, travels fast]

Cadence: Good afternoon, YOU know what time it is.

Crusher: It is time, for SPLAT AM, live from New Inkshire Central!

Cadence: Absolutely. Now, before we get on to the stage rotations, we have some ACTUAL news!

Crusher: For once...

Cadence: Crush, be nice. Ahem. Turmoil in Inkopolis! Today's Inkopolis Plaza News slot descended into, for lack of a better word, chaos as the idol duo Off the Hook was seen arguing off-script on live TV. The incident started as a result of announcing the monthly Splatfest of July, the final Splatfest planned for the season. The Splatfest, which has the teams of Chaos versus Order and is one of the few Splatfests to be totally worldwide, has split the two co-hosts on the potential impact this may have - Marina Ida was noted as being quite emotional on the potential of losing friends and family to the chaos, while Pearl Hime was noted to despise the idea of a safe future and quote, "wished for changes every day".

Pearl: Thanks for taking that out of context, ashhole.

Crusher: The arguments blew up into a fight later in the day, and while none of the argument was recorded, eyewitness reports paint the scene as...contested. Both co-hosts have gone their separate ways in a very public meltdown, but are still expecting to do the news slot until the end of the month. That is all the information we have at the moment, and later information will be supplied as the week goes on. Those two always DID feel like they were one bad fight away from a meltdown like this.

She's hiding behind the breakfast bar, but she stretches to her full height. She's a wreck, her face is muddled and a bottle of...something is in her hands]

Pearl: ...Marina?

???: Pearlie! Oh finally, ah find a version a you that's just how ah remember! [sprints towards Pearl and pulls her into a hug] Mah sweet little Pearlie! pleaseneverleavemeagain

Pearl: Marina! Or...whoever you ARE! LET GO! [Pearl begins struggling and the octo has no choice but to let her down. Pearl is now close enough to get a sniff of what's in the bottle. And it smells AWFUL. Pearl grumbles] So...you ain't Marina. Marina doesn't have THAT accent! Who are you!?

???: But ah AM Marina! This is how we all speak! Your Marina just...covers it up. Speaks like onna those high city folks and not...well, a hick! All Octos sound like this! Look, ah'm Marina! And I'm here to help ya!
