This is another of four perspective drawings based on the theme of Greek mythology. This is the story of Atalanta and Hippomenes. For those not familiar with this story, Atalanta was thought of as the most adventurous of women. She offered to marry any of her suitors who could beat her in a foot race, but the loosers she would kill. Hippomenes won against her by taking three golden apples into the race with him, which he would throw whenever Atalanta took the lead, passing her when she would stop to pick them up.
