Another old sketch found in the pages of old sketch books - touched up and shaded because I liked these two critters.A little disappointed in the movies but maybe another one in the works? Fingers crossed

AVP 1 was one of my favorite movies as a kid. it was actually what introduced me to both franchises.
So where do you stand on the canonicity of AVP? what about Prometheus? do you think the xenomorphs are sapient or not?
I know of a youtuber who explores these and other movie franchises, and at least with the avp verse he comes up with some pretty good hypotheses to try to answer common questions: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWQOuZ…

I've been hoping they would do what they've done with Spiderman and just pretend the other two don't exist. How hard is it to make a script from books and comics??? I digress... This is awesome! I really like the poses!

I really liked the 1 second of footage at the end of the first movie where the remaining pred came out of nowhere and speared the queen. Though it really "bugs" (haha get it) me that a creature with that sort of power & athleticism can only runs as fast as an average human. Bah!

The movies were not too good, your right about that, yet AVP has always "somtimes deliberately and by mistake" seems to dub the Xenomorphs as "a simple object the Yautja easily kill off, somthing I hated about the films, it looked way too cheap,
It was supposed to be the two perfect, and evenly matched species of all time fighting, and I was more than disappointed when the predator teamed up with the Humans, which was far to typical.
Stick to the comics and it would have been perfect

That was a great book. The first AVP film was kinda a mish-mash of that book, plus bits and pieces of the AVP comics...and some other crap that made the film decidingly average...
When the acid melted the predators weapons...oh dear.

I was fine with the melting, because they later showed that not ALL Predator weapons can be melted.

I've never been asked that before. If I could get the time I might do one, though I am not sure how many people would be interested.
In short, I just scan in the pencil drawing then section off areas with the lasso tool and shade with a large, soft brush. I like the effect it produces

I really really love this, but i find the tip of the aliens tail distracting with the way it's places directly behind it's mouth, and they feel a little to ostatic, would have loved to of seen some motion blurring.
BUT the poses are awesome

yeah, the Yautja were wussies in the movie, not like the graphic novels or the books. And why they set AvP in the modern day instead of the late 22nd century, when it was supposed to be set, I have no idea.

love the style you used on these two. love the way Alien is crawling on all fours and being all "alieny" hehe. I normally like Predator with his/her mask on. But i love your predator here. good job
