Description Knights.

Knights is an on going story comic set in a world of Oerth, a world known only by myth.  It covers the life of Aaron Wolf, an exiled knight of Garmor and his life far from home.  He is joined by his long time friend Gates the Kitsune and together they must bring order to a chaotic world not there own.

RACES

Human – Humans are diverse and widespread, some so different it’s hard to imagine they are the same race.  They can be found in almost anywhere in Oerth and are can be as different from each other as an elf and orc.  A common saying of Humans “To be human is to lack any real race of your own.  Men will choose who they are and who to become.  They may drive for perfection as a dwarf, seek superiority as the elf, become strong as an orc, or as free as the half-lings, it is up to them.”

Kitsune – The Kitsune or Foxmen as Humans say also populate many corners of the world, mostly all forest.  Though there culture can vary greatly from clan to clan they tend to prefer living among others of their kind.  This and their love of the forest is what all Kitsunes have in common.  Recently however, expanding realms have forced more contact with the world than the Kitsunes would prefer.  A common saying for fox men “The forests are our home and the land beyond our door.  Now that the races of Oerth have come to our door should it be locked or left ajar?”

Elves – Possibly the most exotic race, Elves come from lands beyond the known world.  Though seemingly at par with other races they tend to think of other races as something between civil and beast.  This confidence in their own superiority has made most dealings with them strenuous however they have a lot to offer to anyone who can grin and bear them.  A common elfish saying “Our time is precious, our crafts holy, to have either from us is a gift demanding your respect”

Dwarves – Dwarves tend to populate the mountains and pubs of Oerth.  There lust for gold is a common misconception, most races believe them as greedy while in fact they strive for perfection more than riches.  They would rather a mine of iron than one of gold and a sturdy sword to a ring of diamond.  A common saying among dwarves “Anything worth doing is worth doing right.  If it must be done again it was never truly worth anything.”

Orcs – A race of strong and fierce warriors.  They hardly live with any race but the strongest of humans and tolerant of dwarves.  They are heavy in custom and honor however there tribal ways are frowned on by Elves who have refused to deal with these barbarians entirely, at least directly anyway.  This however is unfounded since orc’s study the arts of war as hard as other races may study mechanics or art.  A common orc saying “Those who fight with cloak and dagger do not deserve the spoils of war, those who fight with without the mind will be sent to the front as the meat bags they are.  Only through honorable combat can we find who is more deserving of the worlds splender”

Half-lings – Half-lings are named after there size compared to the average size of others.  Their true name is hobbit.  Hobbits can be found near anywhere in Oerth but not for very long.  Most enjoy long walks, travel, and open grounds, the more hills the better.  The ones that do settle down will find a home in the hills and likely become a farmer for Oerth for there love of plants is matched only by the Kitsunes love of forest.  A common saying for hobbits “If you’re anywhere you can bet gold that a hobbits beaten you to it and given you the bread you ate on the way their.”

Gnomes – They are the inventers of Oerth, the tinkerors, scientists, and alchemists.  They tend to dot the cities of other races with few of their own and isolate themselves within.  They are very solitary and devoted to there work of understanding the world so much so that they spend all day and most the night in search of understanding.  You could very well live next to one and not know it.  A common saying for Gnomes “If we were to live with twenty people, as neighbors to sixty more and you saw one of us you are probably the only one that knows you have a gnome for a neighbor or living in your house until our chemistry set explodes.”

The world is dotted with many more races and exotic peoples, however only time will reveal whom they all are.

Not all that suprised. I mean in most cases anything called orc here will be something like an orc there too.

I really hope to get some feedback on these entries while I still have time to change them, nothing is yet set in stone.
