Huh, I thought you needed eight pieces for this model.

It can vary depending on the size of the paper used and how you want the model to sit. I used seven so that it could pop out a little, but still be stable. Eight would probably have made it flat. Don't get this one confused with the one that expands into a frisbee. It's not that one. That one does require eight pieces ^__^
