Description
This fractal was chosen for a full render treatment as it contains several of the qualities I enjoy, that is twists, splits and bending. It is a dust fractal and hence slower to trace than the connected type, full render time was 53 ½ hours on a quad core CPU.
It is (also) a test of an algorithm I have been working on to speed up the detection of the surface of a fractal, preliminary tests for this particular fractal is a little over 25% (probably around 20% for the full render). Precision of the surface detection is 1.0*10^-6 in this instance.

hello,
I would like to ask you a question about rendering full 53 hours with your CPU
I would like to know how you do it??
and with what software you took to get a result as good and beautiful in thanking you in advance for your answer
cordially
lecristal
bonjour,

Greetings and thanks.
I used a piece of software I wrote myself. It can use multiple threads, so on CPUs that have more than one core/thread it is able to calculate the image faster. In the case of this image it used all of the available CPU "power" (i.e. a load at ~100%) for 53 ½ hour on all four cores (a single core CPU would have taken over a week! ).
There are several programs out there that can create similar images, POV-Ray springs to mind, some are easier to use than others tho'.
P.S. I wish I knew French.

bonjour
thank you for the description for the CPU
I'll watch it to see if I can find POV-Ray
I understand how the

Thanks.
I struggled with the colour on this one, initially I went for a B/W render but the fractal was too thin and some of it got lost in the back ground. I tried to find a nice orange colour and ended up with a cyan.

Thank you.
I wonder if there are any good angles when it is a view of the full fractal.
