Description
Silent stalkers in the cornersof the mind of every man.
Always watching, always waiting
beckoning with withered hands.
Through the ages man has feared them
but found no hiding place it seems.
For even now you hear the echoes
of footsteps chased through evil dreams.
Down through tunnels formed by teardrops
raining down from countless eyes.
Taste the salt and feel the wind
made from victim's tortured cries.
Dragons, ogres, orcs and demons
all are spawned from childhood fears
Giving substance to the nightmare
we drown ourselves in seas of tears.
Listen to your soul and hear it
the sound that's been there all along
And as you shiver in the darkness
you hear the faceless Shadow's Song.

"Dragons Orcs" reminds me of Lord of the Rings.
No seriously though your dark style is very similar to mine. I like the world flow and your use of "dark" words to bring out meaning. Reminds me a bit of a Linkin Park song. Nice poem Matrix7.

dude this is awesome! Love the rhyming, although sumtimes forced... (same with my poetry most of the time) yet I love the childhood references, .... and even as we grow up, those monster never go away, just change with time into other monsters, like taxes, loans, bills, etc... wonderful job! *adds to favs*

That flows along very well. The title fits it perfectly. Although I would change one line: "Listen to your soul and hear it". I'm reading along, mouthing the words and I come across an "it" that just pops out and makes me have to move my mouth in an awkward direction, if that makes sense. But you stay on topic which, for me, is rather difficult. Rating: A-OK.
