RANDOM EVENT

Jasper finds himself in quite a large opening deep in the woods. Looking around, he finds all kinds of plants but one catches his eye. A rather large, leafy weed set in the middle of it all, a glint of sunlight shining down upon it.

A) Take it
B) Leave it

It had been few days since the dreadful night in the creepy forest and so far, things had been rather peaceful for the two horses. They were still in the forest, but it was much less dense than before. They came upon more clearings and even found a stream that they had been following for good luck lately! Overall, it was a really great time for Jasper and Lillian. They were really growing fond of each other, although it was still awkward sometimes. Jasper was still adjusting to having someone to look out for while Lillian was still getting used to a new lead stallion. Jasper was closer to her age than Delta had been, so it made things a little easier.

However, over the course of the next few days, Jasper continued to see glimpses of someone following them. He’d come to believe that it was, in fact, another horse. But he wasn’t sure if it was stallion or mare, as they were always up wind. They were smart and he only ever saw them for a moment before they were gone again. He decided not to tell Lillian when he noticed them, in case it would freak her out. He also didn’t know if he was hallucinating or not, so he kept these stranger-sightings to himself. But it troubled him and she often caught him brooding when he thought she wasn’t looking.

”You’re making the face again.” She said suddenly one day as they walked slowly through the forest. The sound of the stream was to their left, though they couldn’t see it through the trees and foliage. Jasper lifted his head, realizing he had his brows scrunched in thought.

”What?” He glanced at her, trying to relax his face. Jasper raised his brows like he had no idea what she was talking about. She rolled her eyes.

”The face,” She demonstrated, furrowing her brows and jutting out her bottom jaw to look utterly ridiculous. Jasper suppressed his urge to laugh with a tight smile. ”You keep making it. What’s up with you?”

Jasper’s smile fell and he looked away. He didn’t really want to tell her about the sightings. Would it freak her out if he did? They already had the paranoia about humans on the back of their minds, they didn’t need another horse. And that was only if she believed him.

”Helloooo- earth to Jasper.” Lillian pestered. He hadn’t realized but he’d come to a halt under a big oak tree. He finally turned to face her. Whether she believed him or not, he couldn’t keep hiding it from her. He obviously wasn’t very good at it anyway.

”Sorry, it’s just-” He started, trying to find the right words. When he couldn’t think of any, he decided to just be simple and straightforward. ”I think someone’s following us.” Lillian went still and her eyes widened ever so slightly.

”What?” She squeaked. ”What makes you think that?”

”Well, I’ve been seeing this horse for a while now…” Jasper began. He recalled the previous weeks encounters and explained them to her. ”I think the first time I felt like we were being watched was when we went into the forest. But once we got to the blossom tree I was too tired to realize how close they were. But then I saw someone, and I’ve been seeing that same horse ever since.” He hadn’t even admitted that to himself, really. Lillian was quiet, just staring at him. A few silent moments passed, and he waited for her to say something, but when she didn’t, he flipped his ears back.

”You think I’m crazy, don’t you?” He muttered. But when she, again, didn’t respond, he realized she wasn’t looking at him, she was looking behind him. Hairs began to stand up on his back as he turned to look in the direction her eyes were set. There, through the trees, he saw a figure. They were illuminated from behind by the sun, and he could just faintly make out some of their features; a dark mane and a light tail, with white markings on their flank. But that was all he could see before they turned and disappeared again. Jasper and Lillian both gasped and turned to look at one another.

”You saw that, right!?” He said. She nodded furiously and then zipped passed him. He followed closely behind her. They broke through the trees and into a clearing, but when they looked around, the horse was nowhere to be found. Jasper frowned as he came to stand beside Lillian.

”Who are they?” She wondered aloud, her fear laced with curiosity.

”I don’t know. I wish they would stop running away.” He said, but then he immediately regretted those words. What if they what they wanted was something sinister? He shuddered and decided that this forest was definitely still creepy. Casting a final glance around the clearing, Jasper’s gaze caught something else. Near the edge of the far side was a rather large, leafy looking weed. Normally he wouldn’t have paid it any mind, but as it turned out, the clouds broke apart and cast a single ray of sunlight onto it, illuminating it in a rather heavenly fashion.

”Hey, look at that.” He nodded toward it. Lillian followed his gaze and frowned. Jasper trotted toward it, the filly close behind. Upon closer inspection, it indeed was some sort of weed. But to Jasper, it seemed familiar, though he couldn’t place what it was.

”Looks like a boring old weed to me.” Lillian said, raising her head to look around again. She was much more interested in the mysterious horse following them.

”Maybe. But just to be safe…” Jasper plucked the weed to take with them. He had a feeling it would come in handy.

Also known as Bunny's ear, hags paper, or a common mullien, this succulent leafy plant has multiple uses.

Brewed in a tea, be it the leaves or flowers, which are similar to a snapdragons, this plant helps to resolve respiratory issues such as sore throat and bronchitis. It was be rubbed onto bruises in a polutice to make them heal faster, and the roots can be eaten to resolve a cough.

were saving up for a kitty

weve got enough money for a cat tree, litterbox, food, and those little acessories and needs but we still need to save for an adoption fee from the local shelter and for toys and a bed for inside the cat tree.

maybe i should start commissions for that.

hmmmmmmmm

oh totally.

i love my puppies, and our training is going really well.
theyre 13 eeks and have learned sit, come, and are off leash trained.

potty training is slow going but steady and consistant.

but theyre brothers and hate to be apart.

my office is upstairs and their kennel area is downstairs.

if i wanna cuddle one while i work the other one gets jealous and whines and howls because, poor things, separation anxiety.

and my birds dont like my computer screen, too bright and they hide.

so i wanna adopt a middle aged cat who loves to cuddle.
and get fur ALL OVERRRR

my chickens were all 2 months or younger when i got each of them. Floofy adoreable birbs with tiny brains to fill with wonder <3

my budgies on the other hand were 6 months, fully feathered little screech demons that hated everything that is beautiful in this world.

i had to learn them all i knew PLUS some XD

Ch00ky In reply to MatrixPotato [2018-07-04 23:56:58 +0000 UTC]

they are actually really dumb.

like i love them.

but they're absolutely stupid.

everything is a predator to them. my hand, their water bowl, their seed hanger, their nest, the cage.

everything.

ive had to hold them every chance ive had from te day we brought them home for them to 1.) learn to trust m and 2.) learn that they are safe.

they still hate my husband and will sparatically freak when being held and just fly.

but theyve really warmed up to me since we got them.

Bloo will sit on my shoulder and preen herself and Yeloe will let me hold him upside down like a baby and rub his belly feathers.

its funny that we didnt know their genders until ther personalities started to come out.

theyve mostly bonded with eachother actually, i think in the future they could be a potential mating pair.

baby budgies for the crazy bird lady <3
