Technically though, pokemon were named by humans, so they aren't saying their own name. PokΓ©mon speak their own language, they make a different sound for each of them that translates into that language. It's humans who named pokemon after the sounds they make, if we could understand pokemon speech I'm pretty sure we'd realize just how smart it is.

When did meowth say it couldn't speak it's language well? Cause I'm pretty sure there are several pokemon Meowth couldn't translate for because he didn't understand the language of that pokemon speciesΒ specifically.

It was that 1 episode in last season that takes place in sinoh where a wild metagros and magnezone were fighting each other and ash and others were trying to get those back where they always fight without harming anyone and he did say something that it is hard to understand what its saying and he didnt say because it was speaking language he cant understand

Technically, he said that about both Magnezone and Metagross, he never said it can't speak it's own language. Meowth just couldn't understand their metal language they were speaking, he even said that in his lines. I just wanted to clarify this, because I'm pretty sure it was never stated anywhere in the anime that Metagross couldn't speak it's language. All the pokemon say their own name, why? Because it's the sound they make, so when humans discovered pokemon they named them after what they assumed to be their names.
Meowth's quote: "stop with the metal mumbling and make sense."
Ash and Jessie asks him what they're saying.
Meowth says: "I couldn't cop a (unknown word)Β of that mumbo jumbo." After Jessie says something he replies, "yeah, they're mad alright, but it's gobbally gook."

And alakazam has an IQ over 5000 and can only say it's name and only learn 4 moves. Same with metagross.

CABAL From Command and Conquer ain't got shit. so whatever people do Pokemon and Command and Conquer crossovers, CABAL must meets Metagross since both characters are smarter than Supercomputer only to have CABAL laughs at Metagross since Metagross can only say it's name(just like any other Pokemon) while CABAL uses Human languages
