Weaknesses: Unlike his sister, Flare is more than willing to use his abilities for any type of situation, but as a consequence must remain emotionally detached from any kind of social activity and despises working with someone that isn't his family. When he is furious he will not think and let his fire powers get out of control. Without his sister for consent or support, he cannot make decisions and renders him useless. If he encounters water his powers will not work. If he lets his emotions run wild he can also lose control of his abilities.

Personality: Flare is considered almost anti-social, as he refrains from any kind of relationship with anybody except his sister, mother and father. He tends to be fond of solitude and only expresses his emotions through either his sister or through music, a favorite hobby of his. He is also well known in the Kingdom as the Prince, but don't tend to say much of him, as they are intimidated by his appearance. Flare is intelligent and also show some compassion on rare occasions. He is considered to be brutally honest and, when he makes decisions, sticks with them until the very end. He is stubborn, and nothing else can change his mind unless, of course, it were his sister. That is why he has become, believe it or not, too dependent on his sister, and, in her absence, does not know what to do except be alone. As a part of being able to control his powers, Flare does not show any kind of emotion, as it is fuel that can be a danger to himself and others; this can also contribute to no one being able to interpret his messages completely (example: He might say "Happy Birthday" to you but with a serious face and monotone voice. Does he mean it or is he being sarcastic?) He can be very brave, and only fears his powers getting out of control. Strange enough, he is also very fond of fish, and collects miniature statues of them in his room, despite them being associated with water; there are even times where he acts like a real cat and becomes fascinated with playing with the fish in the pond.

Past experiences: Flare had accompanied Cloud on her journey outside of the castle when they were still children (a time where he still hadn't mastered his powers and expressed his feelings more), as he agreed with her and didn't like being excluded from the world. When his sister fell into the frozen lake, his fears got out of hand and caused the flames to ignite in his hands, therefore not being able to save Cloud. A.M. rescued her fortunately, but despite that, he always despised her since that day, being jealous of her. They were brought back into the castle and scolded shortly by their parents. When they were older (9 years old) Flare and Silver had an argument and, by accident, burned his own eye and his father's arm. Since that day Blaze tried to train her own son the same way she did, but to no avail. After consulting with her frenemy, Stardust, she was given advice to teach him how to desensitize himself and push his emotions to the back of his head. As soon as Blaze did this, Flare was able to finally control his powers, but sadly to no longer be able to enjoy parties, live concerts, or anything that can get him riled up or emotional.
