I did this one a few years ago. I think the date is on the illustration. Sometimes I have visual flashes in my head, and I see a "scene" for a split second. I saw her turning to glance, in the rain.Pencil, and painted in Photoshop.

Great work! I love her expression and the colors/lightning. It kind of feels like a photo where you captured her at the right moment. The out of focus background is a terrific idea which works perfectly with the photo/instant feeling.

Well... I won't say things weren't expensive! Especially since the dollar was plummeting halfway through my stay. But since I was with a study abroad program, I was able to get a few scholarships that helped with the cost of the $1000 plane ticket and other things while I was there. Tokyo is certainly a pricey city! But I definitely bought myself (and family) plenty of souvenirs as well
If you are really interested in living in Japan, you should look into programs for teaching English over there! I know a few people who are doing that, and it's generally a 2-3 year contract! It's definitely a more affordable way to enjoy Japan for a longer time
