This is the colored version of my Master Chief drawing from a lil while back. Originally it was going to be fully painted and totally line-work free...but I liked the way some of the pencil marks textured the piece.The pic is fully colored, but this cropped section has all the final polish on it...well..most of it..I'm getting kinda tired of this one and I don't think I'm going to get back in and finish..
I kinda discovered a nice way to apply colors in PS through this piece, and my painting studies...so I'm happy with that.

I was trying to make a humorous picture of a superhero for a friend, so I borrowed you work as the main element. I was going to call him "Eight Ball" but that name is taken so I named him "Cue Ball." It didn't really work. The result doesn't look humorous. It sort of looks badass. I'm sure you could have done a better job, seeing that it's mainly your work and then there is the small detail that you have some drawing talent and I don't.

yeah i see what you mean by the pencil giving it some good textures. it looks great especially on the chief's left arm.
what's your new secret with applying colors in PS?

yea the left arm is the finished one haha..kinda got lazy and bored. The coloring way is to do it like crosshatch almost...only with the colors themselves...using darker values of the color im using...then i go in with the smudge tool and a custom brush at like...55 percent...takes some getting used to but i like the results
