One of my teachers has worked with a lot of dangerous animals, and says that polar bears are the worst of the lot. They'll eat your hand off without any warning at all!

I like to think of it as a drug addiction, the bears are the drug eating away at her, and shes just sitting there taking it, knowing its bad, but not doing anything about it... Because shes addicted.

For some reason, it looks to me like ...most of the bears look like they're asking her to do something. Maybe about the creatures coming from behind? And she doesn't want to. She's sad, or has lost hope and she doesn't want to care anymore. Or like, 'What do you want me to do? ' The bear biting her looks like he's becoming impatient, trying to get her to react.
That's how I see the picture.

This is horrendous and beautiful. Her expression, posture, and unnaturally calm demeanor is tragic, and the ethereal colors are a pleasant blend of warm and cool. And I cannot stop looking at that spot where the bear's teeth sinks into her skin and the blood is dripping off. Really gives me a sense of what's about to happen. D: The technique itself is excellent.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. But to me, the bears represent any thing and everything that beat you down. Hell, one of the bears might be HER.
