hehe I like the costume, but honorstly it kinda looks like captain france/russia/dutch with the whole tricolour thing he has got going-that isnt meant as critic though-if you dithed the shield and the ear wings-youve got yourself a whole new hero-personally id go with-the flying dutchman, or prehaps fleur de lis

slick redesign on the shield. don't like the sneakers, but maybe that's just cuz i personally prefer boots.
it looks kind of like he's pulling his belt out tho... like "See, i lost five pounds!"

interesting, i do like it but i would like to say that it is sorta odd how its super-hero suit on top and casual apparel on the bottom.

I never liked the way super heroes wear costumes that look like they have on speedos on top of their suits so I went with jeans. Think Chuck Norris; I hear he wears jeans and spandex.

I was thinking about would a full red around the part of his arm look better but I'm not sure.
The funny thing is complaining about how garish a superhero costume looks is like complaining about how violent a slasher movie is. Isn't the point of the violence the violence itself? Isn't the superhero costume supposed to look a bit outrageous?
I think mostly you took on a real tough challenge.
Considering what Captain America is and what he represents there really is no modernizing him because he is truly an old fashioned guy who stand for old fashioned virtues that are not as readily celebrated this day and age. To modernize the Captain is to change the Captain from what he is really. I don't think he can be really modernized.
