Well there IS a game called Metroid Mini, it's a beta right now, but I'm afraid it's kinda been forgotten. IDK if the developer gave up or just put it on the back-burner for now.

V pet game, I would make this for you, (curse my low intelect on this kind of thing!) not exactly, but the same given idea. I've seen some fake V pet games at yoyogames, but there are good V pets there too, problem is, the ones I see are only pokemon ones. I like Pokemon, but someone needs to make this! If I understood enough of DSgamemaker, I could make a DS rom of this. Argh.......My low creativity, and inability (so far) to understand command text, like variables, makes it hard to make ANY game.

That would be pretty cool. I don't know how you would integrate the life draining thing though.
