Before you say anything, this is not a hate meme. This is a frustration meme.

Why? Well, whenever I look up online for the Thomas and friends special "Sodor's legend of the lost treasure", I see a lot of people bringing up something. It's not the introduction of the Arlesdale engines (Mike, Rex and Bert). It's not the return of Donald and Douglas, Oliver the excavator, Alfie, Daisy, Max and Monty. It's not the orchestral soundtrack and the song "Never overlook a little engine". It's not Marion's funny subplot, in which she thinks Mike, Rex and Bert are magic after meeting Oliver the excavator (thinking it was Oliver the great western engine transformed into an excavator). It's not even about the series' first human villain, a ruthless, violent and sadistic pirate named Sailor John, who even tried to blow up Thomas with a stick of dynamite.

What is it, you may ask? Well, it's Sir Topham Hatt. In this movie, the best way to describe him is, the CGI series' take on classic Sir Topham Hatt from both the railway series and the model series: He can be strict, but with a good reason and he deeply cares about the engines and also shows a fatherly side to them. He is quite a strong character and will remind the engines that he is in charge if they start to rebel against his authority. He does not stand bullying and even though he is usually serious, he does enjoy a good jolly laugh.
Heck, even Thomas was acting like his earlier seasons self: a cheeky, arrogant little prick who thought he was better than the bigger engines, which eventually ended up causing not one, not two, but three accidents (first, he got easily offended when Gordon told him "Big engines don't shunt. That's what little engines are for" and tried to push the express instead of Gordon, which resulted in a collision with Emily. Next, He ignored the small engines' advice ("Rails first, ballast after") and tried to show off to the other workers, only for him to fall down a mine (like the classic episode "Down the mine", but more dangerous). Next, for the entirety of the movie, he was working with Sailor John, not knowing he was the villain. And finally, the final nail on the coffin, he purposefully told Ryan (the new engine) to take some bad coal, which eventually lit off a bunch of explosives and Thomas (realizing the mistake he made) threw the dynamite down the mine, and that's when Sir Topham Hatt scolded him like how my father scolded me when I was little. And after that, he decided to go against Sailor John and, after the sailor got captured by the police, Sir Topham Hatt finally forgave him and congratulated him for capturing the pirate).

Many fans consider this to be the best Thomas movie ever made (and I agree). But some others... don't.
Why? As I said before, when many people on the internet think of this movie, they always bring up Sir Topham Hatt. But instead of praising this portrayal, they side with Thomas and call Sir Topham Hatt a monster. EVEN MORE THAN THE MAIN VILLAIN OF THE MOVIE. Some even say this is the worst Thomas movie just because of Sir Topham Hatt. Are you kidding me? Have you ever heard of "Both sides have a point"?
When I watched that scene, I didn't feel bad for Thomas (because it was all his fault) and I didn't feel bad for Sir Topham Hatt (because he was going a bit too far). But many people think that "ThOmAs Is A nIcE gUy" and make hate comments, hate arts, hate memes out of this man. In other words, they're basically getting angry at a man simply for doing his job. Grow up, people. This is the real world. There's no right or wrong. Just two wrongs.
So, if you see any kind of hate meme against Sir Topham Hatt, ignore them.

edit: Now that I think about it, after rewatching the movie today, I think the reason Thomas didn't stand up to Sir Topham Hatt is because he was more focused at working with Sailor John (since in the scene after that, when Sailor John returned, Thomas was not sad, nor angry, nor any other emotion. He was just happy).
