Description
Inspiration:A dream I had:
An advanced ancient race built a mega computer over almost the entire surface of their moon. The computer used incredible nanotechnology which meant that a lump of the computer equal to the size of a human brain would have 10 times the computing capacity than that of a brain. The computer was so powerful it could predict the future by examining every variable in the universe including human thought. But since accurately predicting an event affects the actual outcome, it was only a short leap for the machine to be able to ultimately control the future and run the universe as it saw fit. The race rightly named the colossus "God". The machine continued to grow inwards increasing it capacity and further developing its exact knowledge of the workings of the universe and existence itself. With the complete deep understanding of the universe obtained, the God consciousness then left its mechanical shell and ascended to a higher plane of existence physically becoming the universe and the fabric of time itself, in effect becoming a god in doing so. And thus the origin of God.
(Iām an atheist by the way! lol)

I used photoshop to construct the planet from scratch and the rest of the image is either more photoshop or photo composition/manipulation.

Great.. allways wanted to try something like this... to the crit: love the concept, love the colors.. grat idea to combine it with a picture- that liquid area down really pulls you into the picture and the upper area makes you fell that there's something great out there!
really love it...

Very, very good. The contrast between both sides of the planet is well created.
The only part I don't quite understand is why you have the liquid beneath the planet. It's not really merging with the rest of the picture.
How about making a similar, but more transparent version of the clouds and stars above the planet? That would create a feeling of depth.
Also, to perfect it absolutelu, I'd make the clouds and stars fade into the black while advancing to the middle of the picture.
I'm not saying I could do better, the work is fabulous, I'm just suggesting..
What a long comment... I'm sorry..

Thanks, yeah the water was an interesting idea that happened by accident and is supposed to reflect the violent side of the planet, it is a surreal piece anyway so I though it wouldn't be too out of place. I'm not great at clouds so I fudged that a bit, hehe
Thanks for commenting :-D

the liquid look quite nice, and the planet above, or moon is also farely well exectued, im not all to fond of the clouds thugh, look abit to blurry and fake.
Otherwise its not a bad image at all, keep working

I don't know about constructive criticism, but i like the picture and i like the idea even more.
the liquid at the bottom feels very close, very personal, drawing you towards 'God'. Then you naturally progress towards the top of the picture, where it suddenly becomes very unpersonal, distant and cold.
i can't imagine being an atheist - i'd hate not to have someone to rant at
