Description
It's supposed to be my interpretation of a local myth/legend/bullshit named 'The Owlman of Mawnan'.Used a real photo of an owls head and then screwed around with it to give it my own look.
The wings were found here at DA courtesy of . I played around with the sizing of them and then added shadow and highlights in some places.
The body and legs were drawn freehand from imagination. You'll notice that basically I drew just one side of the 'Owlman' and then copied, pasted and flipped it horizontally to create a symmetrical version of itself. I then messed around with all the various parts to lose some of the symmetry as I didn't want it to look too symmetrical. Once again, shadow and highlights were added here and there.
Like I said, still a WIP. The final version may be placed and edited into a photo of a local church but not too sure yet.

This is only cryptid that scares the shit out of me. I would rather meet a Xenomorph or a Jurassic Park velociraptor in a dark alley than hear this flying overhead.

Thank you although I can't take credit for the feathers of the wings, I just changed them slightly. Still struggling to master digital drawing though. It seems so complicated when it comes to doing certain things which should be simple.

I can honestly say that it just comes with practice. Eventually you'll find that digital drawing offers nearly as much control as traditional media with the added bonus of ctrl + z.

Ah yes, ctrl + z. A life saver.
Actually I was wondering if sometime you could maybe explain how you would go about doing one of your digital drawings from start to finish. I appreciate explaining something with words alone can be tricky and where photoshop is concerned, very time consuming also but if you do have a bit of spare time I'd love to know the processes, tips and techniques by which you work.

You think I should make a tutorial? I'm kind of hesitant, as I'm still learning myself. ;

Well I'm always interested to see how others go about doing things and would love to know the processes that you take. I appreciate that you consider yourself as "still learning" but you know a lot more than some, myself included.
Any kind of info/tips/tutorials are helpful and definitely interesting to read and learn from.
