At the newsroom where I used to work, a co-worker with his own office had a photo on the wall of what the view **would have been** had there been a window (the remodeling a couple decades previously had covered it over for crappy office-politics reasons, so only the editor, managing editor, and city editor got windows).

Yes, but if you then extrapolate that the robot or previous tenant created the picture because they refused to let hope be taken away then it becomes something more. But then I try to be the eternal optimist.
