Yeah I have always been fascinated by both. I have always believed in the golden rule but with Karma there are many people that say you have to believe in god to believe in karma. Where as I think you can still believe in karma and not believe in god (like myself).

Interesting, the Golden rule itself is actually from the Bible, but i would not think you would need to believe in God to follow it.
I suppose with Karma, it depends on how deep you go into its philosophy. The idea of reaping what you sow is age old (and also found in the Bible ironically) and i have experienced enough to know that it is true - you will get what you give 
BTW i do believe in God, but i totally respect where you are coming from!

Yeah the golden rule is more of a just a morale thing on how you live your life. But with karma I believe that if you do good things then good things will happen from others that see that and what not & I am glad you respect that I don't believe in god, just like I respect anyone that believes in god, I find it all fascinating but am more a science man myself.

Science is a fascinating thing, i am particular to physics and biology myself, although i have found myself drawn more and more to genetics.
While i have faith in God, i do not believe the Science can suffer for it - I suppose you could say that my faith extends to believing that somehow, in a way we perhaps do not yet understand, Science and God will be reconciled on ALL LEVELS as existing together in Harmony. Even the ones that seem to conflict now.
Too many people think that God and Science must be at odds, and unfortunately it is the people who believe in God, who most often state this. Meh! All the best to you! Thanks for the discussion
