Description
The Altares is a fictional spaceship form the 1970s TV special ' Into Infinity: The Day After tomorrow'. This was an edication sci-fi film, made by Gerry Anderson, between Season 1 and Season2 of Space:1999. The ship was intended to travel up to the speed of light, where assorted scientifiic phenomenon would be studied.As with Space:1999 The visual effects were supervsied by Brian Johnson and the Altares was built, and (I think) designed by the great Martin Bower, who built numerous models from Space:199, Alien and Flash Gordon.
