Description
The Flying Sub featured in the TV Series 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea'. It was carried aboard the 'Seaview', under the command of Captain Lee Crane, and Admiral Harriman Nelson. As the name suggests it was capable of travelling underwater - launched from the underside of the Seaview's bow - and could take to the air powered by two powerful jet engines. Cool stuff.
The Flying Sub was depicted on screen by several large scale miniatures under the supervision of Special Photographic Effects Supervisor L.B. Abbott and miniature specialists Howard & Theordore Lydecker. Lots of great shots.
This is the Monogram re-issue of the 1960s Aurora kit. Wingspan approx 10". It was built straight fron the box, and is not a wholly accurate model...sadly this is often the case with model kits of fictional craft.
