Description
I just made this 'what if' box top mock up for an imaginary 1960s Aurora model kit of the Proteus submarine from the 1966 motion picture 'fantastic voyage'.
It still surprises me that Aurora missed this opportunity. It would fit perfectly in their line of sci-fi models of the 'Seaview' and 'Flying Sub' from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The 'Spindrift' from Land.of the Giants and the UFO and 'the Invaders'. They even did a kit of the 'Voyager' from the animated Fantastic Voyage Animated TV series.
The Proteus was designed by Harper Goff.
The photos of the interior are of the recent Moebius model kit.
